It’s three weeks until I get married – and at least two now until we know for definite where Walsall will be plying their trade next season. Will it be visits to the Walkers Bowl in Leicester, or Kenilworth Dump in Luton? The Saddlers picked up the three points at the weekend with a victory over Carlton Palmer’s doomed Stockport, a poor game enlivened by a touch of majesty from Jorge Leitao. His deft flick over Andy Dibble saw Walsall climb out of the relegation zone for the first time in two months. This is what the fans are saying:
Neil Ravenscroft – The only way you can get out of a mess like we were in is by grafting and picking up the points, even when you’re not playing well. That’s exactly what we managed today. The one thing no one ever stopped doing was working, epitomised by the wonderful moment when Gus cleared upfield, then chased 70 yards diagonally across the park to get it himself.
Paul G – It was dire today but we somehow ground out the goal. Unlike last week it never seemed we would conceed an equaliser. Fantastic save by Dibble to deny Jorge the second.
