To fund these deals, Gary Birch has moved on loan to Barnsley until the end of the season. “We have brought Gary in on loan because he is a young player with a lot of potential so hopefully he will give us impetus up front,” said Hart. “I am delighted to bring Gary to the club and I am looking forward to working with him. Finally Gary Wales, who decided to leave Walsall today despite agreeing a new contract yesterday, has joined First Division rivals Gillingham.
