Republic of Ireland midfielder Mark Kinsella today signed a two year deal with Walsall. The 31 year old began his career at Colchester before becoming a key figure in Charlton’s rise to the Premiership. He signed for Villa – where Merse and Jim Walker were part of the set up – in 2002 for £750 000 but was allowed to join West Brom last season, and helped them to promotion to the Premiership. He has 48 international caps.
“Mark is an international player of real quality” said Merse, “He is going to be one of the best players at this level.”
Also putting pen to paper was Danish defender Kofi Dakinah. The former Herfoelge man has signed a one year deal after a successful trial spell. “Kofi is a talented player and I was pleased with his attitude when he was over here with us recently.” said the Walsall boss, who then revealed “We have another signing in the pipeline.”
