Nhleko Problems
Walsall’s hopes of having their new signing, ex Dallas Burn and South African International striker Toni Nhleko, available for the Chesterfield game seem to be disappearing fast, as he is still struggling with his visa application.
Nhleko is still back home in South Africa, according to the Evening Mail, trying to sort out his visa.
Roy Whalley is quoted in the Evening Mail as saying:
“There have been complications with Toni’s application. I’m not privy to what they are but these things can be complex and our lawyers are now trying to unravel the issue.
They are in correspondence with the British consul in South Africa and the player himself is out there trying to resolve it.
We’re pretty much resigned to it not being cleared up before the weekend. We’re hoping for next week but there are no guarantees at all. It is very frustrating.”
Nhleko’s case is different from the problems we had with Junior and the Brazilian FA, as it is only a matter of obtaining a work permit.
(For future reference - and chants - his surname is apparantly pronounced “Klecko”).
