Welcome to Walsall Andrew Dallas
Dallas is undoubtably a good player. My biggest worry is what we sign behind him though. We cannot sign another Lakin/Jellis type player who offer very little creativity going forward.
No surprise after deciphering the “cryptic” clue ![]()
I’m a bit meh with this tbh, but as always, I live in hope.
I’m happy with this- looks like he could do a job for us. He has been touted as a possible signing for the last 3-4 years - let’s see what he actually can offer. Any truth in the rumour that our next signings will be Dai Nastie from Cardiff and Knut Slandin from Silkeborg?!!
I am fine with this. Clearly deserves another crack at the EFL after his season with Southend so plenty of potential upside, the only worry is that seemingly all of his goals have come at a lower level and he hasn’t been able to replicate that in this division the past few times he has been here. Maybe being settled here for a season is what he needs to discover that, but on that basis I am hoping that he is going to be one of a variety of strikers and is not going to be the “main man” up front - probably wishful thinking I know.
Good signing to kick off the the recruitment, feed him and he will score goals. Averages a goal every 3.7 games. Plays on the shoulder of the defenders so its important we find players with the ability to slot balls through to him. Also a sign that long ball tactics are a thing of the past.
This is true. Not the type of player you are going to ping balls at none stop.
Not just the financial risk either. If we are going to be playing a one striker formation like 4-2-3-1 he is likely to have been signed as the main man. I don’t know a lot about what type of striker he is or anything but a lot of how well we can do will depend on him.
Like someone else said yesterday, I have Bradshaw vibes with this one. There is a player there who needs the “right” environment to shine - hopefully that can be us.
At least he’s not a 6’5" giant wrestler. He got 9 goals last season and 0 assists so he is just an out and out striker.
Happy enough with this for a start.
Good luck Andy ![]()
Sure, but an out and out scorer needs to score goals. Hopefully he can transfer to League football as he has failed to do so far. But like I say, good age, good experience for his age and a clear signal of a change of style.
The good thing with this signing is that he’s a striker, these are usually our last signings.
Will be interesting to see the quality of our following signings.
He got 17 goals and 3 assists last season.
Just testing…![]()
For a striker signing on a permanent deal probably about as good as we are going to get. Decent age and experience and hopefully can finally get the goalscoring return he has had in non-league
Good start to the recruitment this. Good age, talented, hungry to make it in the league. A sign of things to come. Lewis next me thinks. That lad is a great talent.
PS Looks like the long hoof ball is over ![]()

17 in the national league last season - that’s two more than young Daniel got for us last season.
This is a good signing for us. Hopefully we get a young ‘un in on loan as good as Daniel. Then if we’re going for 1 up front this season our striker recruitment might be done….
I know nothing about this chap having never seen him play but happy we have signed someone. Hopefully he can fire us to promotion.
Predicted finish up 11 places to 7th. Oh yes indeedy.
