Barrow (A) April 12th, 3pm kick-off

If you keep making the same mistakes playing out of form knackered players and recalling players who have by and large not improved us then I’m afraid you’re not the right man for the job. If he rinse and repeats for the next 4 games we will not get promoted and it will be down to one man and his stubbornness

I genuinely don’t know where we go from here. It’s now too late to change the management, and the management is not willing to change the system or risk the January signings.

The most likely outcome is we will slide into 6th/7th place and crawl into the playoffs. The last home game of the season will most likely result in the players being booed off due to the abject capitulation we long suffering fans have witnessed since January. Then we will then get completely humbled in the play off semis by whoever is lucky enough to draw us, as this side shows zero chance of landing a blow on any of the other play off contenders.

So we are left with that bile like taste in our mouth when looking back on 2024/25. What promised to be the greatest season in 2 decades has been desecrated due to an abject performance from the manager and players since the Stoke reserve returned to keep the bench warm at the Bet365. I for one feel completely and utterly dejected with what has happened.

We only needed to maintain ‘mid table’ form post January to win the league, instead we have witnessed the most shameful and embarrassing capitulation possible. I genuinely couldn’t care less if every single player was moved on, they have proved they do not have the mental fortitude or physical attributes necessary to clinch a promotion after it was handed to them on a plate.

Well if he is not picking Williams because he believes daniels and dave are better options he deserves sacking for that alone

Why would you put Wheatley up top on his own?

He’s been absolutely useless for us, I can see why he’s not been used.

Comley still has a year left on his deal. As has Josh Gordon. Strap in for the ride.

I actually think that Levi and Josh could work well together. I agree, though, that Josh’s high intensity style does not make him a 90 minute player and we need significant reinforcements in the summer.

I think that Sadler is still searching for his favoured front two pairing. Levi and Jamma actually looked quite good in the first half against Port Vale, but we need to give much better service if we are going to get more rewards.

I think there’s every reason to suspect that Sadler thinks exactly that, based on the fact that he thinks Adomah is a better centre-forward than DJ, Comley is a better midfielder than Chang, and an absolutely dead on his feet Barrett is a better wing-back than a fresh and fit Asiimwe.

That’s not good. Let’s remember though for all DJ been in exile and not rated to start games anymore those late goals v Salford and Donny have still kept the side clinging on to top 3 and they could still be paramount to automatic promotion depending on the result between those sides tomorrow night.

My feelings exactly - that just about sums it up perfectly.

Jellis hit’s back as Walsall fan calls him a wakner.

Any coincidence that he won ‘Manager of the Month’ in January?

I guess the only bonus about the Harrogate game is that they should all be as fresh as daisies.
None of them broke sweat at Barrow.

I mean who the hell’s responsible for that??

It’s like they want to be non league

I think with Comley, it depends who plays alongside him.

Playing in front of a central defensive two, he’s perfectly acceptable at ‘mopping up danger’ and filling gaps, provided that he has a midfielder alongside him, like a fit Jack Earing, who can make lung busting runs.

With 3 at the back, with full backs that are struggling, alongside somebody like Stirk or an out of form JJ, he looks limited.

He’s no Zidane granted, but he’s a former player of the year and I think he’s been a decent servant to the club.

The problem is that we currently have midfielders who get bypassed due to the long ball tactics we seem to employ.

he has a contract
Never going to walk.

That could be true, but alternatively, maybe the problem is that we currently have midfielders who are not good enough with the ball to take it forward and pass it on to our strikers in good positions.

We do Bernie but the manager doesn’t play them.

The irony of this is that " square pegs in square holes" was being given as a major reason for our success-on here and elsewhere. I think there was an article on us late last year that used it.Paul Cook said it of Sadler as late as February , and it’s just no longer true. Not even having Williams to bring on seems to encapsulate the change.
