Birmingham City (H) - Friendly - Sat 27th July, 1pm

Don’t you know how bookies work?
They set the odds on how much they would have to pay out. Not on whether they think a team will do well or not, but on how much money is going on to each team. Consequently with football it’s always the teams with the biggest support who get backed and have lower odds.

He always manages to find space.

Do you mean their attendance or the number of people backing the bet?

That maybe true tbf simply as hutch was never a cm and never wanted to play cm .
He was a cam so played like it and it left more space

Not surprised with Simkins kicking , he was a black belt in Karate

I think most of the fans who bet on such things tend to bet on their side to win promotion or get in the playoffs. Except for a few on here who will be backing us to get relegated.

Not convinced that is the case then as Bradford would be clear favourites by a country mile and they aren’t on SkyBet.

For those watching on Saddlers+, it seemed to me that the camera position was better than for last season, perhaps a little higher. If so, I wonder if that was a Birmingham City choice or will be the case for the Walsall league games, too.

I had to switch off the commentary, it was so one-sided. Generally, it is interesting to listen to the other commentary since you get an outsider’s view of our players, but this lot barely said anything about any of our players.

The bookies tend to be reactive.
The more money that goes on a team, the lower the odds.

Since supporters (although not this supporter) are more inclined to back their own team then a club with more supporters is going to generally have lower odds.

Of course, those supporters have to be optimistic about their teams chances before they place a bet.

Looks to have been “stolen” by the mods or the system!
Also I nicked it anyway, too lazy to make my own abusive gifs, so I’d say feel free .

Of course they are. Good job Sadler doesn’t play poker. Albion know Sadler has left everything to the last possible moment, he’s got no wriggle room. Albion can get us to agree to whatever they want now…

Not really late on it we tried to get him in January but ran out of time so he came on loan and been talking since
As reported on this or another thread is the bids from Southampton for their striker. Of course we only have Sadlers word and the word on the street

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Southampton go for Thomas-Asante for £7m. and Adebayo for £13m.

They’ve just lost Che Adams on a free and I have it on very good authority that they had a bid of £20m. accepted by Man City for Liam Delap before Delap opted for Ipswich instead.

It’s a transfer merry-go-round and it’s always the same every season as transfer deadline approaches. Even Man Utd signed Berbatov at about 10:59 all those years ago, so it does surprise me that some Walsall fans are surprised that we have to leave it late, too, when player agents opt for the best possible deal for their clients.

This dosnt convince me. Most of the decent strikers at this level seem to be snapped up

Another thing to remember about yesterday is Blues put out a much better team than they had in the Championship last season.
We were far from disgraced but obviously even though we did create some very good opportunities we were unable to convert anything.
Thought Jovan Malcolm looked ok in the relatively short time he was on.

According to my blues mate all though they split the squad between us an Aldershot .he latter texted me to say the 11 they named for our match was pretty much there first team .

I’ve also be told that it was a very strong team by a friend who supports them.
