+1 Earing was a go-to change to keep midfield going from the bench (16 apps as sub). Sadler didn’t replace him/Hall and broke his own Plan A. His Plan B isn’t working.
Sorry who is this you are talking about?
Carlisle have taken 5 points from their last three games and haven’t conceded a goal in those games. They have a new manager and if they win their game in hand they will be out of the relegation places.
This won’t be easy.
He and Hall gave us quality to come on from the bench which enabled the high press game to blow teams away in the second half.
Promotion teams grind out results. If we can’t get 16 points from our last 12, then we won’t deserve promotion.
Come on Walsall. This is massive.
No they don’t… after 33 games, those players are where they deserve to be… its no fluke!
Shitting meself about this one.
Get the Tena-men on youll be fine.
Even though he refuses to show even a glimmer of emotion or passion,so is Sadler…
Not the same players though, in 2025, Carlisle United signed several new players who have made a lot of difference.
- Will Patching - Joined on January 2nd from Derby . 9 appearances
- Elliot Embleton - Joined on January 3rd from Blackpool. 10 appearances
- Callum Whelan - Joined on January 3rd from Gateshead. 10 appearances
- Cedwyn Scott - Joined on January 6th from Notts County. 8 appearances
- Sean Fusire - Joined on loan on January 7th from Sheffield Wednesday. 5 appearances
- Paul Dummett - Joined on January 10th from Wigan Athletic. 1 appearance
- Stephen Wearne - Joined on January 13th from MK Dons. 6 appearances
- Charlie McArthur - Joined on loan on January 16th from Newcastle United. 7 appearances
- Joe Hugill - Joined on loan on January 17th from Manchester United. 8 appearances
- Josh Williams - Joined on January 21st from Birmingham City. 6 apperances.
That is unlike a certain club which signed a lot of players who have not featured in the match day squad.
My need to freshen things up.

Think the bookies might agree with you there mucka
Weem generally around evens or bits, theym top of the head to carpet
Barrat
Thanks for clarifying. I was puzzled as the Swindon goal came down our left . Taylor Allen had a chance to intercept the through ball but didn’t and after the melee in the box they scored. I agree Barrett needs a rest. It is his first season at this level and has played a lot of games. I would give Asimwee or Brown a game tomorrow. The latter did ok in the Vertu cup ties he played.
Yeah its one of them… ive been critical for the last month on here about him, but its nout personal. I completely realise he is a kid and its his 1st season.
I want him to be brilliant.
Pivotal game this one.
Must not lose.
Win and it would send a message to the chasing pack.
Lose and it would make it an extremely nervous run in.
No prediction from me.
Come on you Reds!!
Think Sadler will go with more or less same team defensively minded and hope for a shut out and a point.Problem with that is this team at the moment don’t look like they can keep a clean sheet .and scoring goals has become difficult.Performance has been the key to our success get that and the results usually follow .for me performance levels have dropped considerably at the moment we look like a team hoping for a result and bit of luck .The manger for me needs to get his hand back on the tiller and steer this team back on course .he needs to motivate these players he seems to have blinding faith in …into lifting there performance levels or make changes .go to it Captain Sadler .Carlisle you can bet your life will be well up for this .(there cup final) we had better be as well .for me we need to go there with an attacking intent and take the game to them .
Can you really see this happening. Any good manager in our position and with our form in decline, would make changes to freshen things up. Sadler is either scared to do that unless it fails, or feels more comfortable keeping with his regular 11.
The players will give their all regardless, but if the setup is too predictable, Carlisle will have already told their team how to deal with us.
I just can’t see us getting anything out of this game, and it’s a long trip back to have to dwell on it.
The problem with Sadler is he’s playing not to lose instead of to win. If he’s scared to make changes he shouldn’t be a football manager imho. This is the time to make the necessary moves, not after we lose the top spot.
He needs to grow a pair and be brave, if it doesn’t work at least he tried.
What we all know is selecting the same 11 is NOT working!
But still only 7 points from 9 games (not including the first 2 fixtures in January or would have been 7 in 11)
If I’m not mistaken (easily done), a quick calculation shows its pretty much status quo regarding points per game pre and post January signings, so it’s not made a lot of difference to results.
