Will look forward to @Andy_Petterson xg deep dive to see if that’s true
I will do an expected elnombre swear count to go alongside it.
If you think that will tell you, your even more deluded than I thought
Perhaps in some of the away games, but not in the home matches, which have been particularly damaging and really representative of decline. Grimsby, Swindon, Vale and Harrogate we were out fought and out thought for large periods. Too many lost points.
Ticket sales appear to be pretty good - Poundland now fairly well gone with only single seats left…
Interestingly our Wolves ST next door neighbours have bought tickets so the interest in the Saddlers ‘great escape’ from L2 is gathering momentum..
Maybe that should be the T-shirt theme if we get to Wembley….
I think that Chesterfields problem is the fact that they are a possession based team, if you put them under enough pressure they will just keep tip-tapping it about amongst the back 4 and the keeper until someone decides to whack it up field. I found it incredibly that Cook was blowing his top because Simkin was wasting time ( something their goalkeeper would have done if it had been the other way round) and yet his own team were wasting a lot more time than Simkin by tip-tapping the ball to each other in the last 15 minutes. I doubt whether Chesterfield are going to change their style after playing like that all season so if we can keep disrupting their play and start the game with a mindset that we start at 0-0 then we will get to the final.
The exact same thing happened in the home league game. They move the ball slowly and then he moans about us slowing the game down
They are definitely a side with no real pace and have some aging heads in there, and they move the ball cautiously. Which plays into our hands if we can stay switched on. I dnno if we will keep another clean sheet but im expecting someone to be able to get in behind their backline and create chances for us when they push forwards.
Hall has the pace, just need to be more accurate with passing.
Worst time wasting from a keeper this swason was Newport away, he went fown about 3x in the last 30mins
Really think if they go down twice they have to leave potch for treatment, that would definitely solve it
If they were faster on the ball, they would be much much better! Our pressing was fantastic yesterday. It dipped a bit when Matt was bolloxed at 60mins but when JG came on, it freshened the forward press up.
It was so different seeing Matt actually hold the ball up - got us much further up the pitch. Levi wasnt very pleasing on the eye - maybe a season at Drogs is on his cards. JG was much better at leading the press than levi.
Cracking away performance - really enjoyed it. On the walk into the ground, there were a few comments on the walk - “funked it in the league didnt ya!” and “Were gona batter you today!” - very quiet on the way out, with some old boys saying, “your boys played well”.
Im so tempted to book wembley accom - BUT ill save it till midnight on Friday ha. Still got a massive job to do - but friday night under the lights - i cant wait!

I brought that last 4 tickets all together in the Poundland stand this morning, hopefully the stadium will be full. We really must get behind the team and get the job done.
Just got 4 in the away end. Loooong wait eh
So kind of you to say so,
My lad just messaged me the updated seat map and there are only 2 seats remaining in the entire Poundland stand…
I saw that a while ago, but that changed recently to about 50 I guess.
Hope Liam Gordon is firing on all cylinders again on Friday, when hes at it we are generally very good. He has been a key player through the season.
May have been posted and I’ve missed it but the Park Inn is back open to the public, when did this happen - delete accordingly
Didn’t Sir Ray say that 2-0 was his least favourite score line ! If there is to be a third goal it needs to be from us. I can genuinely see the confidence draining from them if Chesterfield get a first half goal and then the panic will set in.
However I am definitely not advocating that we try to see it out and let them come at us, thats a recipe for disaster. Think we need to play the same team as Sunday but drop Matt for Gordon, plus we have got to put DJ on the bench. If we are going into the last 15 minutes needing a goal from somewhere, he’s our best hope.
It’s going to be a very tense night and this tie is far from over.
I saw that this morning when looking for somewhere for Friday night. I used to stay there a few years ago when I came up for midweek matches and it was getting a bit tired then. Went for the Holiday Inn at J10 instead
