Chesterfield (H) - Play-off 2nd Leg, Friday 16th May, 8pm

Junior scored a great goal, I think it was against Preston.

I always loved Rambo’s v Stoke also.

That 1 always stands out for me but I could never remember who it was against. He was unreal that day.

Fryatt against Huddersfield too.

Would love to see Dario Larossas goal from the half way line again

That Wilkinson goal for me. Especially in recent years

Brandan Kiernan v Morecambe I think too, cutting in from the left and shooting into the top right corner.

Lalkovic v Carlisle also up there. Merson and Sawyers v Bristol City my top 2. Bradshaw v Fleetwood in 15/16 near the end of that season aswell.

We have a few decent ones this year.

Wasn’t that in a pre-season friendly? Possibly wasn’t filmed by the club’s video team.

Roger Boli at the Bescot no contest for me.

Either of Merson’s 2 goals against the Albion were pretty memorable, especially given the occasion.

I can’t recall 2 better goals scored by the same player, in the same game.

You’ve made me remember Ryan Jarvis - how dare you.

Weird how memory works. I can’t remember watching them go in, I remember the footage on TV ahead of seeing them from my seat at the top of the purple stand.

Have to agree with other posters - Friday was the loudest I have heard the Bescot since we moved there. My ears were hurting after the match. And have we celebrated a goal so much as Lakin’s before at the Bescot?

I think it’s definitely the noisiest I have known - it reminded me of Fellows Park against Notts Co and Bristol in the 1988 play offs . There were 12/ 15k there for those games

It was proper old school. As a kid I fell in love with Walsall the night we held Leeds in the cup. The Chesterfield match reminded me of that energy again, the noise, the tension and the unity. I had my 9 year old with me and he said it was the best day of his life, I told him to treasure it as they don’t come along that often.

i was in the away section as i thought it was a good idea from the club to limit chesterfields allocation and get fans behind both goals .
Don’t get me wrong it was a good atmosphere with lots of day trippers in there and they supported the team throughout. many will come back again.

However in a way the spoilt the occasion slightly when they started the pitch invasion which wouldn’t have happened otherwise.
should have waited til the game was finished so we could have all invaded the pitch together with a better experience than the 10 minute wait and no doubt a hefty fine for the club to come.
