True I’d love to afford a Rolex or omega but buying something new and shiny still makes me happy even if it’s just a fashion watch

My missus brought me a knock off Breitling from Turkey, lovely watch cost about £175 so not a rubbish copy.
Anyway had it bout 7 weeks and it aint lost a second, a proper one that tbf looks identical to it is 6.5k, I’ve no shame telling anyone who asks it’s a copy, i could spend 6k a lot better than a watch tbf but dont mind a couple of hundred.

That’s fair enough mate, after all a luxury watch is not a necessity, but it’s whatever floats your boat, some have a passion for fashion, cars, holidays etc, I appreciate the quality and finesse of the build and movements of the higher watch brands, but that’s my thing.

I bought an omega James bond 007 copy

Paid $750 for it, and the winder broke, i was crapping myself because if you take it to a watch repairer, they are supposed to keep and destroy it, so i took the plunge and sent it to a place in London, cost me £80 to get it repaired and the bloke said i should have insured it for more on the postage when he repaired and sent it back, and i said “why? it’s a copy” he said “oh i didn’t know” :joy:

It’s about time we did something like this.

I’ve got a couple of half decent watches. A tag and a Breitling. Hardly ever wear them since I finished work. Looked good with a suit, but don’t go the same with polos and shorts, especially the Breitling which is a proper dress watch. Tend to wear my Garmin fitness watch.

My daughter has an apple watch (she has her walsall season ticket on it which the turnstile guy has to scan.
When I was in Hong Kong before the chinese took over, guys would accost you every few yards saying “copy watch? copy watch?” I bought my son a rolex oyster on the night market there for around a tenner.lol. He still has it too.
I have an Omega seamaster which I’ve had for 36 years loses about 2 minutes a year. I’m are supposed to have it serviced and the battery replaced every 2 years for which they charge £590.00. I take mine to our local shoe repairer who is an Omega fanatic. He has over 20 of them. He charges me £20.00 strips it down cleans it and puts a new swiss battery in it. Only thing is he tells me not to go swimming with it on as he can’t replace the seals. He keeps me talking about his watches for about half an hour every time I see him.

Do you cull seals then, when you go swimming?

The only 2 Watches I own are both Hagley West, not too expensive (esp when he does his tiktok live sales) but look nice.

The Timson’s cabin at Sainsbury’s in Cannock have a special service where they send your Omega watch off to their experts to be serviced, i have sent mine
£89 and they reseal it as well
