Yes I get that, after all we’ve had it done to us a few times over the years haven’t we.
Seems better than I expected tbh. So the question is to me if he is the number one RWB what do we expect as a back up a loan player
If not would a Joel Senior or player of similar calibre come in with Connor breathing down his neck and would Connor be happy also I don’t think we would splash that much of the budget on the RWB position, so I expect a loan back up
And he did sign for us and everyone seems to be saying it seems like a promising signing, so not sure what your point is
Knowles had an extremely good reputation when he joined from non-league. In fact I’m pretty sure he was player of the season for Yeovil and their fans actually thought he was going to League One.
It’s a big jump, hopefully he makes it, but I’d point to players like Knowles as an example of quite how big it is.
I’ll take these kind of signings all day. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t but you can see the vision. If it goes well, you either have a very good young player who progresses with the club or you have a valuable asset. Couple more of these with some an experienced head or two and I’ll be happy.
Would be a big step up to start as first choice, but signing Joel Senior who’s only 25 would make 1 of them surplus unless they can play elsewhere e.g centre back.
Do we let Barrett and Foulkes battle it out?
If we’d kept Knowles, TK could have played upfront.
Happy with the signing, but why did the club deliberately specify he played primarily as a RB?
Interesting article on Connor

Just the sort of signing that I like to see.
Prefer a hungry young player from non-league than an under 23 Premier league academy cast-off that’ll see us as a step down…
Welcome to WFC Connor.
But you’re completely missing how we never actually played Knowles in his true position whereas this is Bennett’s natural role.
It’s a shame we never got to see Knowles further up cos there’s a player there, cheers Sadler
Not sure about that. Knowles was adequate defensively but it was in more offensive positions that he really let himself down. All fart no Pooh.
Anyway. Very happy with Barret signing but like Jellis and indeed Knowles before him you never know how steep the step becomes. Let’s hope it’s more Draper than Knowles.
Seems like a good punt. Best of luck to the lad.
Punt or not, he looks like a pla6er, who wants to achieve something. I hope he will be pleased. Best of luck
Looks an ok signing to me. I think he will have competition for the RWB position. Welcome Connor .Interesting it is a 3 year deal too…shows we are continuing an upward path in building a more stable squad.
He wa# here the season before last as well you know, and in his favoured positions it was a carbon copy, zero composure and abysmal end product.
Don’t remember Knowles ever being any further forward often? We ain’t played wingers in years and guessing that’s what he would’ve preferred
I ain’t even defending him and not overly arsed he’s gone (OK squad player) but I don’t think we used him to his best ability
Connor Barrett has posted on Instagram about his transfer to Walsall.
The post was commented on by both Jackson Smith and the young Stoke GK Simkin.
Do they have history with Barrett or are they both going to be at Walsall next season?
We did the first year and he didn’t exactly shine. I didn’t miss it, but maybe you missed that entire season
Smith knows him not sure about Simkin
Peterborough have made huge sums with deals like this so why not Walsall. Both Jellis and Barrett look like great prospects, throw RAM into the mix and we’ve got some exciting young players to watch next season.
