Crewe Alexandra (A) May 3rd, 3pm

True….

should rest a few players here to prepare for the play offs, no point risking injuries!

Yes, unfortunately, this is the most likely scenario!

Bizarrely I think out of nowhere we will suddenly cruise to three points but it won’t matter as Bradford will get the three points as well.

Meh, what a dismal few months at Walsall FC.

If one of them got injured it would make no difference to our team ffs

I think we had such a lead, we went a little defensive thinking we could draw our way to promotion. Sadly a mixture of bad luck and conceding some very good goals the confidence ebbed away. Failure to address this earlier with the introduction of Chang Hall Johnson has contributed. I really haven’t seen enough of Wheatley to be optimistic, but if we have finally decided to play a more possession based game, he and Johnson may well fit in very well. We seem to have installed a higher quality midfield, but stuck with forwards that have little value in that style. Time to stick or twist not halfway house. Irrespective of the overall outcome tomorrow I would like to see a victory to boost the confidence, of not only the players, but for the fans too. Living in hope for a good outcome, but i dont think it will be tomorrow

For what it’s worth we’ll win tomorrow and so will Bradford. Atmosphere will be awful if that happens. Such a shame and a big opportunity missed

I was gonna say, which players are we worried about being without?

We’ve had 13 attempts at winning with the majority of the squad available and not managed it.

You don’t need to play possession football to get goals from DJ, you just need balls into the box.

You can bet your life he will be there, he may miss a few but he will keep doing the same things and get the goals.

Apart from Wheatley who I haven’t seen enough of to judge, non of our other strikers gamble like DJ does. That’s why he would outscore all of them put together over a season (not counting Lowe in that obviously)

Was crying out for him at Newport while he was feeding the animals.

As PT says, above, tomorrow should be about the fans.

Understatement of the century.

So gutting. Tomorrow will be horrible,

Bullseye moment, look what you could have won.

Absolutely and I’m afraid it will hurt a lot. Win and we don’t go up they’ll be at a massive low going into the play offs. Lose or draw and not going up after failing to win again and they may as well write off the play offs as we’ll be beaten before Wembley. Feel so bad for the fans going tomorrow. I’m at work else I’d be one of them. Some of the best fans in the country and they deserve success at last

I wish I weren’t going really.

I suspect my day will be about helping my boys through the pain.

What have you done Walsall FC, what have you done?

I think you are right.

It is hard to say which is least likely, us winning or Bradford losing or drawing. Not much in it. I don’t think either will happen.

It’s hard to take mate I’m just trying not to get my hopes up and accept it now unfortunately

I know we have no chance. You try telling the kids that. Going to be horrible.

I don’t think I’d feel as bad if there were no playoffs, that just makes it worse that we have to go through that.

I generally enjoy watching the play offs as a neutral, wishing they didn’t exist this year.
I have a strong suspicion it will be pretty much done by half time. Fully expecting Bradford to batter Fleetwood, be a pleasure to be wrong.

If we don’t win tomorrow we could be waiting at least 3 months for a win !
