Yep, was there that morning helping.

David James’ last professional game in the UK.

Bournemouth player picked up a ball in his own area thinking the ref had whistled, he hadn’t. So we got a pen!

He fouled someone and Saddlers fans were yelling at the ref NOT to send him off, we thought we had a much better chance against eleven men with James in goal than against ten with a sub goalie. That game wasn’t really a fitting end to his career, he had a real shocker.

I met the the guy who reffed that game many years after. When the Bournemouth player picked it up if was after a clear foul that should have been a penalty but he hadn’t blown the whistle. He then gave the penalty for handball. Ref said he didn’t know what was going on lol. He also said Smith was a nightmare and always submitted negative referee reviews.

I saw an interview with him recently apparently he was only still playing at that point because he had spent all his Premier league dough.

Same reason the Crewe game was called off

They are in complete ‘melt’ down, weird bunch. Even suggesting we, as a tin pot club, get under ground heating, we must be the only team in the 4th tier to not have it , maybe as a club that nearly went out of existence a year ago or so, they could offer us some tips on how to successfully run a football club.
They truly are pathetic bunch of so and so’s

What to do this afternoon instead.

Make a lasagna and scrap with the dogs is looking favourite. Separately of course.

If Crewe wallop Stockport we could even go up a place. :joy:

They have a pitch inspection later, could be off.

I remember horse meat being in Lasagne but dog is a new one.

So far 1 in Championship, 3 in league 1 and 4 in league 2
called off (Inc ourselves of course) no doubt more to follow would be my guess…

It’ll be a long time until I pay any attention to anything Swindon fans have to say. They conveniently forget that the my lurch from crisis to crisis and have a level of superiority built upon a season in the top flight almost thirty years ago.

Sounds like you’re spouting a lot of hot air again chunks

Absolutely agree.I can’t get through as many pints pre match on a Tuesday than I can on a Saturday for obvious reasons like work etc.Pisses me off it does.

Genuine question. How much does undersoil heating
a) cost to install?
and
b) cost to run?

Surely having this installed may be better than loss of revenue to due losing so many Saturday matches.

They had something similar at Leicester Tigers before xmas for a TV match, covers and big blower heaters all installed on trailers, cover was inflated & kept pitch playable.
But massively expensive to hire and run. Aston Vile had fixings installed all round Bescot for a cover system that had heaters, supplier supposed come in to install, then remove on matchday, never been used by us due to cost.

i think that is a little short sighted? i wonder what the cost to use is against what the club are losing by having to re arrange?

In 2011, I found a link that said £10k a game. That has to be at least double just now. £20k per game seems a bit much to me and that is just the running cost/

Swindon think we are Tinpot, surprisingly considering they recently had the TV Bailiffs pay a visit.
