Dave Serella

Sad to read that Dave has been diagnosed with early onset dementia, the suspected cause being heading heavy footballs.

Dave now lives on the Fylde having moved from us to Blackpool. He spent the bulk of his career in a Walsall shirt playing 267 times for us including that Arsenal game Chanticleer posted about the other day.

A Saddlers hero. I wish him well.

Remember him talking about the tactic him and Roy Mcdonough had when Walsall won a corner…"We’d both go up to the penalty area and stand about a yard apart. As one of us ran for the near post header , the other would wipe out the others marker "

Below Roy slags off Moyes, Oneill,Terry , Balottelli and Geoff Hurst…

that was a fantastic watch thanks :ok_hand:

Really sad news, a great defender in the 70s for us

Can’t quite make my mind up whether old Roy was a man’s man or a nob’s nob.

I have just downloaded the book to my kindle.

Can’t remember if serella was in our team that knocked out man utd and Newcastle utd the following season? That would have been poetic justice for him, maybe sadlad could confirm?

Mans man …lol.

Apparently not an unputdownable page turner though, unless you are a very, very slow reader?
