If this was a match played after our final league game of the season I think everyone would say it was all good. It’s coming 11 days before the start of the season that makes such a poor performance a major concern.
Why wasn’t DJ there?
Good question. Earing and DD both present but injured. Where was DJ?
Bit strange isn’t it?
Maybe not allowed to fly on medical grounds?
…let’s hope not…
I understand that some fans enjoy the “ togetherness “ that players portray at times, but wrapping the club flag around yourself or “ kissing the badge “ doesn’t fill me with undying gratitude and a sense of club or fan loyalty, call me a cynic, negative whatever, I put far more emphasis on performances and desire, that’s all I want, players to produce a level of commitment and desire when they pull the shirt on. Not a lot to ask really is it ? And some desire to sign a better quality of player , something all us long suffering saddlers deserve.
OK, You’re a cynic.
Cheers mate, very grateful for your kind words just going to order a big Dave face mask.
Just doing as told
I’m just glad that most that went were half cut so couldn’t remember how dross that was
No problem matey
It really was awful.
Keeping matt and signing Gordon show how poor we are in getting the right player in, just put a fiver on relegation and ending up 23. Team is so poor.
Having gone straight from the bar to the airport, then train and bus back home, have spent the day sleeping it off. Great night, speaking to Sam he was saying how hard the traing had been over there and that they had worked them really hard so was much more than just a jolly for everyone.
That is a great summary of last night. The players are so together too. All extremely well behaved, yet still managed to enjoy themselves. The fans that were there last night, will give these boys more time, because how they were with us.
It’s not perfect, yet we have a solid base to build on.
Whilst i have question marks over one or two, I know that they will give each other everything and us more, as long as we still
With them
To be fair even when we have played crap i cant say ive ever questioned the desire of the players much, maybe on 2 or 3 occasions over the season at most.
quality is always the issue. They probably know that themselves to be honest. Footballers aren’t stupid. We have to scrap for everything, which explains the over the top celebrations if we win two in a row etc.
When I played for the Orange Tree many many years ago this was a go to thing 6 nights a week fantastic rapport between players fans coaches you actually got dropped if you didn’t get bladder .I can’t remember we’re we finished in the league or was any great shakes it’s all a bit of a haze
Did you go to Sutton, MK, Wimbledon away ? I did two of those. I remember how they were with us those days. I remember how much those away days cost and the Saturday spent to follow them. Most of them are still here. Few pints in a pub and all is forgotten ? Na, action please … then more time once it’s earned through results and performances.
It’s not the Dog n Duck, Merse ain’t the gaffer.
Bit like on par when loads of coaches from every boozer in the country going down to Wembley for the school boys international against the jocks think I went to loads but can’t recall anything about the actual games.
