How many points we end up with is anybody’s guess, for me all that matters is the next game.
We currently sit on 66 and move on from the muddy field of Morecambe to what awaits us in Cheltenham.
95 points
We’ve only got 6 home games left this season after only losing once at home so far (the anomaly that was Fleetwood) so our home record is:
W 12
D 4
L 1
So at 2.35 PPG if we assume this form continues then there’s another 14 points taking us to 80
Away record is:
W 8
D 2
L 5
So 1.73 PPG - again assuming a continuation then that’s another 13 points taking us to 93
We’ve got this - UTS
NB - forgive me if I’ve got any stats wrong - too many celebratory drinks tonight!
I agree with that. The most important thing is if we have a bad result or two, is not to panic.
I was just checking out some of the other teams fixtures.
Wimbledon as well as playing us have to play Nott’s County, Doncaster and Port Vale.
Bradford have to play, Nott’s County, Port Vale and Doncaster…
They can’t all win all of their games.
Take a draw Tuesday after today’s result then a win against Swindon Saturday to keep the gap between us and 4th the same or better with 2 more games played.
90
Few stats to digest…
Out of the top 10 teams around us (down to 11th) only Bradford have beaten us this season….
Most of the teams in and around the top 7/8 are playing each other between now and the end of the season but interestingly, the last 2 games of the season could be hugely significant for a couple of them - (I’m sure we’ll have our fate sorted by then and be promoted btw…)
26/4
Donny v Bradford
Wombles v Vale
3/5
Notts County v Donny
Grimsby v Wombles
UTS
Posted this on the Morecambe thread.

How the L2 table stood exactly 12 months ago:

And how it looks today:

We’re 4 points ahead of where Stockport were having played a game less. They finished up as champions with 92 points.
PS In their final 13 games it was W9D3L1.
In one sense we are doing it the hard way. Top and therefore teams raise their game against us. I won’t give a points prediction but I will predict that we will fight for every point and if we we lose the odd game we will bounce back.
Was so so important we nipped that blip in the bud. The Chesterfield win was huge. Their miss from three yards possibly a crucial moment in our fortunes.
Hope the players don’t start this kind of thing because it becomes easy to slide all the way across the spectrum from complacency - “their bottom so we’ll win that” to seeing bear traps all over the shop “fighting for their lives”.
But we can play.
And I’d say we’ll get to 90 points.
W7
D3
L4
Which should be enough to win the league.
These next four feel quite big. Win three of them and you feel that we can attack the following three against top sides with a fair bit of freedom with far more pressure on the opposition than us.
Is the fishy calculator still a thing?
@WeYamTheMods has put one on the Morecambe thread
Nice one. I’ll give it a whirl later.
Whatever happens, it feels like Crewe away will be biblical. I hope it’s biblical because all matters are settled and it’s an explosion of fun. If matters aren’t settled then it’ll also be biblical.
Away end holds 1700. Sometimes they also give an extra 650 to away fans in the railway end. Might depend on their situation as to whether they give us that.
Either way, I doubt tickets will go to general sale. Which will mean we may have a few undercover Saddlers on the left (as we look) of their big end. People with Cheshire addresses might just become very popular!!
Crewe might need something out of the game too.
Wouldn’t surprise me if the game gets moved to old trafford
Think we should all pay homage to @Bluejay who has been bang on this from the start.
From the first game against Morecambe in August…
He was always a bit too pessimistic for me
I did the fishy thing and got us on 90 points and winning the league…just!
Think it will be a close run thing though.
Next 3 or 4 games could be really key for maintaining the gap as we head into the ‘harder’ games against the promotion rivals.
I’m not going to go through the fishy thing,
I don’t think we will crack 90 points plus, but I also don’t think the chasing pack will get as many points as some of the ones posted.
I don’t really care much as long as we get promoted though.
I think we’ll just about get 90 points. I want us to win the title but promotion is the main prize
Bloody hell. After the euphoria of yesterday ive now depressed myself by calculating we will achieve 78 points. FFS.
