Really pleased with the signing of Courtney. This is exactly the kind of signing weāve been crying out for - young, hungry, from non-league - just like the āPeterborough modelā weāve talked about for years. Following the signings of Barrett and Jellis, it feels like Trivela are finally putting that strategy into action.
Personally, Iām fully behind this approach. We see some good young talent progress before being sold on for a healthy profit - some money going back into the club and some going to Trivelaās investors.
Barretts performance levels and numbers were more than enough until January when he tailed off but they all did heās not on his own .
Replacement me thinks
More wingback or more central midfielder? Anyway welcome, and good luck with the games! Maybe without cards
Even for you thatās a terrible post.
We wanted a bit of a b****** player - with his cards record, maybe he fits the billā¦.
The key part of MSās statement was that he is an excellent athlete. Thatās the primary characteristic a Sadler signing needs.
However I would add that JJ and Barrett have been excellent buys from Non League so hopefully this lad is in the same category
Or Williams and Earing.
You got to bear in mind Sid some people wet there pants at the sight of a football shirt ,put some arms legs ,and a head in it and they will most likely do a number 2 .
So Courtney was first aware of our interest 3 months ago according to his interview.
So we are certainly doing proper scouting and planning ahead
Letās hope our work on the forward line is equally diligent
Maybe they stopped monitoring the players after December.
If they did Nathan Lowe would be in there.
Ahui has been playing on the right side of a back 3 for Drogs in a 3 4 2 1
Feel a little underwhelmed, only because I had hoped weād make a bit of a statement signing, a proven winner in this league to show us that they are looking to carry on pushing forward but itās nothing against this lad. Will reserve judgement until I see him as I know absolutely nothing about Eastbourne.
I donāt think Barrett was sulking, he had the same demeanour when we were winning. Some people are like that, we arenāt all the same. My mother was like that, you could never tell if she was happy or not.
Barrett struggled the second half of the season, as did Jellis, first year in the football league and playing so many minutes and a team that lost all confidence, doesnāt mean they are bad players all of a sudden.
Might still happen but I have my doubts .when I was a kid my mom used to buy broken biscuits couldnāt afford whole ones .Walsallās a bit like that we might find a nearly whole biscuit though you never know .
Itās nice to see the club start the rebuild so a warm welcome to Courtney with more to follow.
