Former players - where are they now?

Don’t think the 4 game ban helped him much here.

Cracking goal that by Charlie.

That Walsall v West Ham link has this one pop up: the 2001 FA Cup Rd 3 highlights. Some great defending for Wrack’s goal !

We played West Ham quite a bit in cup competitions from the mid 90s to 2001. Aside from the 4-1 at the Boleyn Ground and Lampard’s hat-trick, we played some close games.

That was a fantastic game, although we lost.

Earlier that season we’d played them at The Boleyn Ground in the League Cup and drawn 1-1, which put us out on aggregate, but we were brilliant that night. Pedro hit the bar in the last minute which stopped it going into extra time. Lots of corners, lots of pressure, we just couldn’t score except for that one. That night was one of the best ever performances I’ve seen from WFC.

I listened to Deeney on Simon Jordans podcast recently. He had difficulty on admitting Harry Kane is a better striker than he was, saying he had qualities that kane never had. I thought then I’m glad we never appointed him.

Brought back memories my only visit to WHU, went by coach and dropped off what seemed the middle of nowhere just outside some shops in Beirut lol

Well done for managing to listen to him. I tried when he appeared on MOTD and then the Defoe podcast and it was painful trying to.

Or being of the right character.

Certainly didn’t .think Deeney’s calling out of an individual was clearly something that FGR could not ignore .also companies and any organisations are terrified these days of anything that resembles intimidation or bullying or putting employees under stress .Deeney clearly unaware as how to operate in today’s work environment .FGR clearly saw this and hence is sacking .

I don’t think he will get another job in football management again, but they may use him as a stick, like threatening to employ him if results don’t improve :joy:
And i think he was seen eating a big mac during training

I worked for a company once mate were one of the directors had to follow the owner round the factory on a daily basis keeping his distance so he didn’t see him .so he could apologise to everyone the boss ravaged and I mean that he use to tear into his management something awful but never the guys on shop floor .he was a really old fashioned type of boss and was highly demanding . He paid his managers very well and made them earn every penny .the guys on the shop floor loved him :joy:and to be honest built and ran a very successful business.his directors eventually persuade him in later years to not go on the shop floor to bollock people but he just couldn’t help himself sometimes :joy:

Devlin scored for Aberdeen last night.

Jamie Patterson just scored for Swansea against Southampton. 3-1 to Southampton though.

Southampton giving Swansea a lesson. Apart from Patersons goal Swansea have given them far less of a game than we did.

Sam Parkin on R5L just while I was making and eating dinner, so one Saddlers legend talking about another, Russell Martin.
As well as Jamie P scoring, Swansea have Carl Rushworth in goal, so it’s a Saddlers takeover on R5L.

Ashley Hemmings cores a pelanty for Kidderminster Harriers, who are now only 1-2 down.

EDIT … Hemmings again (38 mins) to level matters at 2-2 (at home to Aldershot Town)

Bet that gave the keeper the pip!
