Recruitment was not his strong point. He was an operations guy in his corporate life who probably had good HR people stopping him from fooking up.

Pomlett left it too late appoint a football man to help him (Fullarton) and then proved to be a bad judge of character. A football man to steer him early doors might have helped

Bad luck for him, just looked up he played 64 times for us though

What a silly appointment that was when there were much better options at the time another cock up from Pomlett mind you he was probably cheap so that makes it ok for us.

Who were the other options, I can remember Steve Coppell being randomly rumoured for a few weeks which was strange as he hasn’t worked in Football since about 2010.
Stephen Ward currently DOF at Solihull so he’s probably one of the better local options out there for that role if the club reinstate it in the future.
O’Kelly is probably doing the job currently even if he dosen’t have that title.

Some shocking stuff in that, for those looking back at Jeffs reign, perhaps appointing 2x alcoholics either side of DD, and then Whitney not even being qualified as a physio, let alone a manager, as well as being a head case, needs to be exempt from the rose tinted filter.
