Former players

Some great names in there! Stefan Moore was running a taxi business while playing part time a few years back.

Yeah I understand that POV. Guess if you go straight from Walsall into depth of non league you can lose a bit of passion of making a career as high up the football league as possible and money isn’t a huge change.

Just always a shock when you consider plenty were saying Matt Preston was going to end up non league and he got a good deal at Swindon.

Jackson scores on his St Mirren debut. Seems to like scoring on his debut recently : Walsall, Grimsby and St Mirren.

#163

Matt Preston scored for Mansfield at Bury today.

Aaron Williams is playing for Harrogate Town in the National League after spells at Rushall Olympic, Peterborough, Nuneaton Town, Brackley Town and Newport County. A very interesting career trajectory, but he obviously has talent.

Looks like former captain and Saturday’s opponent Andy Butler is focussing on coaching rather than refereeing now when he retires. Completed his A License. https://www.doncasterroversfc.co.uk/news/2018/september/butler-completes-uefa-a-licence/# .

What happened to the plumbing lark ?

#165

Talking of former players, remember Bakayoko? scored 2 in coventry’s win against Charlton on saturday :astonished:

#166

Milan Lalkovic has signed for Czech first division side SK Sigma Olomouc

#167

Never understood the calls to re-sign Lalkovic in the summer, a true mercenary.

#168

At that stage, with apparently nothing else coming our way, it fell into the category of “desperation” !!

#169

And it looked to fans like he WANTED to come back due to camaraderie and the love of the fans and club

#170

He’s still crap

#171

Milan should never have left in 2016. Played reasonably well that season so could’ve followed likes of Bradshaw and Sawyers into the championship if he’d another good season.

Instead he’s become a journeyman who like F. Brandy probably hasn’t earnt much more than if he’d stayed on at Walsall and now finds himself back in the depths of the Czech league which I think happened after he left the first time.

#172

Hiwula now at Coventry, scored this evening and Saturday, not good news for Baka!

#173

Hiwula always been a good forward at this level. Maybe not so much the second time he played here but really he was just understudy to Bradshaw then.

Would’ve been good to get him instead of Jackson in 2016, think he’d have relished being number one forward at the club which he wasn’t in his other two loan spells.

#174

Not good news for our FA cup ambitions either.

#175

Emmanuel Ledesma is having a great time in the US second tier. 16 goals and 16 assists for FC Cincinnati this season.

They will be moving into the top tier as of 2019.

#176

What a player

#177

Loved this guy. Wished he’d stayed around longer.

#178

Lazy and didn’t track back enough. Probably.

#179

Pisses me off seeing such good players in the US.

Just a waste…

#180

They still have crowds over 25,000 in the second tier, fair play
