It’s so bloody obvious mate but the manager doesn’t see it
Wish the press had the moral courage to ask the difficult questions… He might have a really good reason…
Matt, poor result, why did you start JG up top tonight, is there a place for lakin?"
Harrison done more in 10 minutes than JG all game and looked a better fit and threat along side Jamma .i think Sadler is to focused on one game plan hitting long balls to Jamma think it’s time for an alternative strategy.cant carry on like this .we’re screaming out for a Hutch type ball carrying midfielder
Mate we’ve needed a shake up for a few games. Connor looks knackered…Nathan should be given a chance there or Albert. Oisin shouldn’t be in midfield when we have literally 4 different options. Josh bless him is a nice lad but for the life of me shouldn’t be near the first team. Zero bloody press at all first half. So bloody passive in a game we desperately needed to win.
Well, well, well. That was diabolical. Where to begin?
Flash today was really poor. We know his weaknesses well by now but even his supposed strengths of harrying and pressing was awful. A yard behind play everywhere and every “tackle” (more like a desperate lunge) went straight back to them.
After they scored, I thought that well at least we’ve defended decently today. Then the last 25 minutes we were opened up at will. The touches they had in our box second half must be over 50. They weren’t even quality, just gaps everywhere.
The biggest issue by far however was our midfield. Late to almost every second ball and the chasm between our strikers and our midfield was huge. No energy or desire, so many times their centre mids received the ball with acres of time and space to pick out a pass. They sat 3 on our wings and we had no answer.
How we stuck with Stirk, McEntee and Jellis for so long is beyond me.
Silver lining is that we’ve at least signed some midfielders who can do no worse based on tonight’s showing.
Instead of seeing tonight as a massive opportunity to get the season back on track with a front foot selection and performance Sadler effectively reduced the game to a 45 minute affair where one wonder strike or a bit of bad luck or a shyte decision could be magnified into a result changer, and low and behold when you’re on your shitter that’s what happens in football. He doesn’t even seem able to refresh his very successful plan A, yet alone effect a plan B. For those bemoaning the transfer window, how about we actually see some of those players play…. Or even make the bench?? All on Sadler IMO. And I will add that in Jamma and DJ albeit for different styles , we have two strikers that thrive on crosses into the box. In Albert we probably have one of the best crossers of a ball in EFL history, and yet we’ve never seen that group of personnel deployed. To not do it tonight was insane, we could have took them apart at 1 0. In fact why not at 7.45??
That was terrible - the last 25 minutes was a total shambles. A team that has not won in ten and is supposed to be in total meltdown deserved to beat us.
Simkin - why the hell did he not come out and clear the ball before their goal. This guy is not a good goalie. His stats make him look better than he his because we have protected him so much. Don’t know where he gets his rep from. He will cost us more before the end of the season.
I would have liked someone to close down the shooter for their goal but blocking shots is something we never really do.
Josh Gordon - why? Yet again for all his running around absolutely nothing came from his efforts.
Our defence is a shambles the longer the game went on. A long Gillingham ball and suddenly they are behind us and looking dangerous. Why does our defence seem so reluctant to just clear the ball when we are in danger. We watch as it bobbles around the penalty area waiting for someone else to do something.
I thought Matt was probably man of the match. Liam Gordon and Barrett poor. I know Stirk divides opinion on here but he was also poor tonight.
Our corners were abysmal. We had 5 on the trot in the first half and they were all dog poo. I could take a better quality corner when I played left wing as an 11 year old.
We have gone crap almost overnight for whatever reason. Sadler needs a long hard look in the mirror and earn his crust. The January window is not looking as good as we were told.
If Chesterfield score first they will win. Perhaps DJ needs a longer run than 5 minutes?
UP THE SADDLERS
We have the pleasure of his presence all next season too.Shocking contract.
Going to keep this short and sweet.
We were shite.
McEntee is not a midfielder
Barrett, wtf has happened to him? Needs dropping for Adomah.
Simkin is a liability at times, no communcation with his defenders.
Flashless, well . . . . .
Take Jellis off corners ffs
And the season after that
Although im really pissed off after watching that garbage freezing my tits off the Hippopotamus with anger problems comment made me wet my panties.
Nice one.
I can tell after 5 minutes how the games going to go and I said to the people behind me that we was going to struggle, you can see the lack of energy and play
Sadler interview on WM on the main positive probably overly so but that’s nothing new, issues a rallying call to fans to stick with them.
Didn’t they clear one of our corners off the line!
Not excusing another poor performance but corners weren’t the main issue
2000 going to Crewe ? Be lucky to get 200 gooin
Over 6 thousand on a Tuesday night is fans sticking with them in my opinion.
Some of us anyway
Ouch
Is there anyway we can stop it now ,and calculate it on The Duckworth-Lewis method.
