Harrogate Town (A) Dec 21st, 3pm

Exactly that. I’m still not a fan of Adomah up top, seems a waste and he also always seems more effective out wide.

I’m not going to argue though, as whatever Sadler is doing is obviously working.

Put big oisin mcentee up top, physical presence, rough up the backline like matt does.

But in all serious it’ll be adomah

My main concern without Matt is at the back. Our midfielders are not tall. I would be wondering about playing McEntee there to bolster the defending of set pieces. Also, if we have a strong wind (again!) there will be a lot of battling and McEntee is good at that.

Agreed. We looked so much stronger when McEntee came on against Barrow. His abilities in both penalty boxes would help compensate for Matt’s absence.

I would also find a place for McEntee tomorrow in the midfield area for three reasons.Firstly the loss of Matt on set pieces , secondly the expected conditions and thirdly the programme ahead. We ask a lot of our midfielders in the system we play so I think some rotation over the Christmas period would be a good thing. I would also have Brown and Weir on the bench so if the game situation allows we could give some rest to our wing backs.
I would also like to see us start with DJ alongside Lowe with Adomah coming on later in the game.

Gillingham 2 Cheltenham Town 2 (68 min)

On the train back in fine form ready to give it large tomorrow :metal::face_with_raised_eyebrow: let’s have it.

Both of the Friday night games ended in draws - good news for us as the home teams (Crewe and Gillingham) are part of the chasing pack, and can be considered to have dropped 2 points each.

If the reports are correct, Crewe’s attendance figure tonight is quite impressive - 9,288 just a few days before Christmas, and I wouldn’t think Colchester brought very many with them…

Crewe have now drawn 5 out of their last 7 games - hardly promotion material.

Could do with the Chesterfield v Wimbledon game tomorrow being a draw too.

That attendance must be a mistake. Can’t tell from watching the game as Sky didn’t screen it for some reason. They get more like i-follow every day.

Not impressed with either Cheltenham or Gillingham, from what I saw.

It was Crewe’s choice to play on the Friday night. Sky weren’t intending to screen it.

I’m surprised, even with the discount. Didn’t think they’d have so many casual fans. Doesn’t look like they had a shot on target, so it might not be so successful next time.

That’s correct was not classed as a midweek game or would have been televised
