Harry Williams Signs

A decent signing and if it works out for him and us its a win win for everyone. Reading the comments from Matt Sadler this has the potential to be a very shrewd piece of business. Welcome Harry.

Happy with this. Looked good against the Villa and can’t have been that expensive.

Potential signing, what not to like. I only hope he will be good, but later. I don’t expect it now.

Hope he is as good as David Kelly (also from Alvechurch)

Probably about 5k lol. Anyway I like this signing. Much better to snap up local non league talent vs some shite u23 loan signing from the championship

Ron Green, David Kelly and Richard O’Kelly both former Alvechurch players and they were okay.

I agree to be honest theres lots of potential doing this rather than spunk the money on useless wages for u23 signings on which we have been offered, because im convinced most are "offered "rather than scouted.

Its cheap, it might work, and hes obviously impressed on trial ( which is key here), plenty of that u23s nonsense under his belt from WBA.

If only we had a reserve side, he could really have benefited from that. Instead I suppose he will get the odd 10 minutes at the end of games.

Different club but didn’t Cyrille Regis come from Alvechurch as well for WBA?

He was from Hayes FC I think, West London.

Paint pot trophy makes sense, 4-5 matches in that competition and can stick him alongside one of Daniels/ Hussey and see how he does before putting him into league 2.

Alvechurch a fair way off national league so nothing stopping club loaning him to somewhere like Kiddy or Solihull in January either to push him on like with Foulkes.

Alan Smith of Arsenal 1980s vintage is from Alvechurch so assume he started there and then I think Leicester picked him up.

Great signing great age . Makes sense as cover for now and starter next year
Also if this is a season to much for Hussey eg Williams, Clarke ,ward, everyone we have ever signed over 33 he will be able to replace him easily in a few weeks so makes sense for that to
Well done walsall

There is some story about Alan Smith been watched by Big Ron and Chairman of Alverchurch dropped it to the Leicester manager who snapped him up sharply

Really like this signing . This is definitely the route we should be looking to take advantage of more often .
Just watched the interview with the lad . He’s buzzing and obviously wants to prove himself and show what he can do .
Breath of fresh air …Young with potential , won’t be on stupid money . With a re sale value if he fulfills his promise.
Much better than some of our recent older players looking for one last good payday and have no real interest in the club and progression.
