Harvey Griffiths signs on Loan

Different position. Tierney is having Mahers minutes or maybe Oteh depending on where he would play.

But they are only Mahers minutes if he is up to it. Maher should have had this loan last year.

I certainly didn’t miss any nookie for this last minute loan deal like I did with Osei Yaw.Talk about learn from your mistakes, but I do hope the lad can impress and have a successful spell with us.It’s difficult not to tar these types of loan deals with the same brush when you look at the historical evidence so I fully understand the skepticism surrounding it.

Good luck. Midfielder, probably to fix that gaping hole between defence and attack, so many minutes awaits. Only I hope injuries and cards won’t find him.

Yes, nothing too earth shattering, more of the same. It’s very rare that we make a signing that really makes you go ā€œwow, he’s goodā€. The squad is pretty average - it’s got the look of a mid-table League 2 side. Perhaps that really is our level nowadays.

Welcome Harvey…I hope you enjoy your time with us.

Want to actually watch him play before I judge. Can’t say I’m that excited though.

As I Said on the other thread we are looking at this with a bias based on our history. Fair one, but if we look at many other clubs turning these types of prospects into performance defining loans then it could be exciting.

He will be here to play games no doubt. Build a good relationship with Wolves and we could use our Geography to our advantage for a change.

Seems a shame about Comley though. Should we be looking improve our physiotherapy and sports science department?

Theres probably a difference in quality between a lad from citys academy who ended up being snapped up by wolves, than a lad from our academy who cant get many games.

Welcome to The Saddlers Harvey.

Who says he’s going to play? ā€œIt’s an area we want to be fully covered inā€ tells me he’s here to make up the numbers in case of injury/suspension. Maher needed game time.

You can’t help feel underwhelmed with this caliber of signing when on the same day you have former players like George Evans singing for league rivals. But like @el_nombre said, that’s just the reality of where we’re at now and we’re not shopping in the same market. As always, I’ll back the players at the club, but my expectations aren’t high.

looking forward to hearing it on Spotify

As I’ve put elsewhere, judging our transfer activity against that of Wrexham isn’t really a fair comparison. Nobody in this league will compete with them financially, and neither will anyone in League One.

Great signing for them, but let’s remember they’re against the norm. He wouldn’t have signed for anyone else in this league, and there’s a very good reason for that :money_with_wings:

You only have to look at the Brighton lads to see that.

I can’t say I was expecting much on deadline day so no surprises there. In fairness I wasn’t much impressed by us bringing a kid in called Draper and yet look at how he’s settled in.

Good point. Imagine we’d signed Draper on deadline day, everyone would have been comparing him to Osei Yaw before he’s even kicked a ball.

Apparently Forest Green were interested in signing Griffiths too and we beat them to his signature.

OMG how I wish we had and he wasn’t just a loan.

Lincoln have one hell of a prospect on their hands IMHO
