Takes me back …
I think what this message board badly needs is a reggae thread.
To rival the heavy rock thread
I was thinking it would help us all chill, but thinking of some of the lyrics by the likes of Peter Tosh, Macka B (from Heath Town I think) or Max Romeo, it would probably start arguments.
Roots, Rock, Reggae by Bob Marley. Great song.
Brilliant. I have that one on my iPod.
Well, the thread has moved on and it’s better than puns!
Another great song, written, possibly, by the mysterious Vincent Ford.
Max Romeo…Wet Dream. My mate had a copy,I was about 15-16,couldn’t believe how rude the lyrics were.
Give it ten minutes, eh?
That’s my night sorted, glass of chardonnay with a bit of SKA playing on Alexa
And what’s wrong with Heavy Metal …
I was reading a novel in the past few weeks where the lyrics to that song were quoted, can’t think what it was, maybe White Teeth by Zadie Smith. No great surprise it was banned by the BBC back then. They wouldn’t even say the title when they did the chart rundown, it was “a record by Max Romeo”.
My mate got it from a reggae shop in Birmingham somewhere.
Nothing mate everyone to their own
I listen to reggae and metal. And folk, blues, punk, trance, country and a few other types. I draw the line at Jazz though. A big, big line.
