Good to see good numbers at the game last night, but, the down side is often that these extra bums on seats aren’t really saddlers fans and not interested in the game or result, which takes away from the atmosphere and togetherness of the fans. So it’s a bit like two steps forward and one back.
Who remembers a 1000 falling off our attendance figure when Bonser sold Dann and Fox? It happened have a look back at the figures I can see that again if we fail

I can only dream that one day Walsall will be so successful that we attract fans who are glory hunting. Wouldn’t that be wonderful?

I suppose we may have attracted a few borderline glory hunters in the days of Merson, Samways et al in the second tier. But people stopped attending after the sale of Dann and Fox due to disappointment and disillusionment. Am hoping that MS desists with his bizarre team selections and we avoid the kind of slump that would lead to a repeat.

We’ll struggle to attract 5k home supporters on Saturday, that’s for sure. Should still be over 6,000 overall with a decent away following though.
I’ve already spoke to some people who called Walsall ‘we’ while we were doing well despite never really/hardly going, now Walsall are back to ‘they’.

There’s a couple of blokes at work who have not been to a game for years now saying…who we got saturday…that was a bad result the other night worntit, glad I da go…where’s that put us in the league now then …
I’ve just asked the questions … you going to the game saturday? … I was but I’ve got something on this weekend… 
There’s loads out there, glory hunters piss me off, for our team or any others for that matter.
