His highlights reel looks good - I can see him displacing Jellis - I don’t think we need Hall now. I would like a ball-playing CDM coming in now, somebody like Reeves from Wimbledon - obviously not him, just someone like him!

Maybe BB came across him on a hunting expedition in the outback :grin:

@latviancheese taken from Wiki:

" Picken started his career at Sydney FC playing in the youth team but moved to Newcastle Jets after then manager Richard Money signed him.[1] On 31 July 2006, Picken moved to England to once again link up with manager Richard Money who paid for A$50,000 (£20,390) for the defender’s services. He only managed two appearances for the Saddlers due to a long-term knee problem aggravated by playing and making his debut against Rochdale on the opening day of the 2006–2007 season in which Walsall won 1-0 thanks to a Martin Butler goal. Picken’s Walsall contract was ended in April 2007, three months before it was due to expire. Picken moved back to Australia to fully recover from his knee problem."

eh, what now? :grimacing:

Struth- that’s a surprise…..

Welcome Jake

Another good reel for anyone who has Instagram. Seems to have good composure and is able to score with both feet. Hopefully he can make the step up.

I remember him looking quite decent too. Didnt injuries impact his stay

Managed by Mile Sterjovski, who (fairly briefly) played with John Eustace at Derby in the late 00s.

Tenuous, but recommended to Sadler maybe?

Imagine swapping Sydney for Streetly though :grimacing:

That’s an interesting signing. I hope he plays well. He’s never played in Europe before, so that could cause some minor issues.

He won’t be living in Streetly on what we will be paying him

Looks like been in the works for a while, wonder if there were any other teams interested over here.

Yes - we kept that a closely-guarded secret! That gives us some cover at number 8! Just a couple more needed now. We haven’t got many loan players this season - still time for a couple; a pacy striker and a CDM!!

Nobody saw this one coming. Highlights look impressive but then again anyones highlights do. I think he will have a very good attitude and be very hungry to do well which can be half the battle. Seems very likeable in interviews I’ve watched.

Will need to adapt to the demands of the league with the physicality and bad pitches. As daft as it sounds he will also need to adapt to the cold weather which will be new to him. Good luck though Jake and hopefully the club have found a gem.

Wonder if part of the deal includes a pre-season friendly…
