They were hard players but they were decent players still.
My only memory of us against Horsfield is when we lost 2-0 at their place, Horsfield got absolutely smashed by Roper and then the ref booked him for diving 
If memory serves, in the same game Koumas flew in on Ritchie, and 30 seconds later the physio was on… for Koumas!
I don’t think Ropes ever tried to nail anyone , he was just so slow and cumbersome … 
This is fake news, Roper was actually quite fast when he got going and could keep up with the best of them.

He was quick, but his problem was his turning circle. Meant he had to be fast to catch up!

Totally agree. Roper made up a lot of ground if someone did get passed him or somebody else. Fantastic player for us
When fit he could run tbf. That was usually about February
