L 1-0 vs Scunthorpe United (A) - League Two - Tue 8th Feb, 7:45pm

The way things have been going and with a draw not doing Scunny any favours at all, i would take a draw.

We cannot afford to lose.

Sad state of affairs eh

Absolutely spot on . Ruts are hard to climb out of for that reason .

Obviously a draw is better than nothing, but I really feel we need to win it. I think Oldham got an enormous lift from that late winner on Saturday and I think they will be building a positive momentum. I’m sure they will see a big boost in their home crowds given the change of ownership etc. I can see them escaping especially if they win tonight. I think someone else will get dragged down… just hope it isn’t us

Which is why January’s recruitment was crucial and couldn’t be taken lightly, as it clearly was last season with near disastrous consequences. We lost our best creative player in Khan, and lost any hope of Holden returning, so as an absolute minimum we needed to sign two creative players, plus a striker, a left-back, and a centre-half. We just got the latter 3, which in itself wasn’t good enough - and then add the fact that one of them is injured.

The consequence is that once again we are crossing our fingers and playing fast and loose with our league status. We might get away with it, we might not. Its exactly the same mentality we employed for our last few seasons in L1 also…more of the same season in season out.

Massive changes required in the boardroom of Walsall FC.

Does that mean you are travelling over the bridge to join us Hull?

Definitely. It was closed due to high winds recently and everyone had to drive round but pretty calm here at the moment. Before it was built and before the liberalising of drinking laws the ferry across was the only place you could drink all day!

The voice of experience?

Did do it with a couple of friends in that gap between 3 and 6 back then.

There used to list of establishments that enabled you to do 24 hour drinking in Brum back in the day when we still had the DORA licensing laws. Can’t recall exactly how it went but know it included the Market Tavern (as it opened up to serve the workers there who were up before the crack of dawn) and the Odd Spot. Never actually did it myself, but I’m sure some of the more intemperate on here will be able to fill in the gaps.

But back on topic - is this your first in person game this season?

No, the scintillating experience that was Carlisle!

Well let’s hope you get to see a better outcome than that one. :see_no_evil:

Read this article very slowly on the way up there and you might just believe we will get something from the game.

Closest game to home for me, can’t go, no wheels

It truly terrifies me that we have a ‘must win’ match against a team THAT HASN’T WON AT HOME SINCE OCTOBER !!

If ever there was ever a match that we could find some way of losing, then surely this is it.

Not long now to a must win game, but the more i look at our crap midlield the more i think scunny could win this.

Since this time last year, Scunthorpe have played 53 games.

They’ve won 6.

SIX.

Where are you based?

I bet we’ve won no more than 10/11?

12
