I aint got time to go wading through the archives tbh. But I remember the January post very clearly and I am sure many others do. It was a ‘celebration’ or something of that nature of how the club had turned around and we had a manager we could finally believe in. No problem with the post tbh, it was the knocking of anyone that tried to say we probably we’re getting a little carried away.
Then in the match threads you had turned by mid Feb. It aint the first time, it won’t be the last.
I aint got a problem with positivity. Its the continuous labelling of any caution or legitimate questioning as ‘negative’ or ‘meltdowns’ when it suits you. But then, turning at the first sign of a bad run and literally becoming the manager and teams fiercest critic. Your not a happy clappy at all
Didn’t take a lot of effort, they are all in this thread
It’s hard to track pacy runners as a defender too, or claw ones out the top corner as a keeper, or score virtually any goals as a striker. They’d all get grief (and indeed are) if they weren’t doing their job too.
He will score a goal in a couple of weeks and everyone will be raving. Then he will be anonymous again and everyone will be complaining simply because he’s inconsistent
Certainly in the area of the stand I was in last night Hutchinson was getting abused not just criticism. Other players weren’t getting that level of abuse and I include Jamille Matt.
His performance deserved criticism and during a match that is unlikely to be quiet and reserved but alot of it crossed the line as it has on social media.
Just can’t understand why that happens. A players ability and future at the club was being completely written off by more than a few.
Evans has clearly called to claim the ball. Sadler pretty much said so in his post match interview when saying we need to trust each other when people call for the ball etc.
He wouldn’t be in that position otherwise, he’d be in his goal.
Sadler will be the architect of his own downfall if he’s not careful. We should not be playing Williams at the moment when we can play mcentee in that position
People are abusing Hutchison? Why?
He hasn’t an attitude
He never hides
He tries to get involved even when having a bad game
On his day he is our best player
He was our highest assister and 2nd top scorer last season. That’s from midfield
Walsall fans are idiots
Even if people say he has a poor game, When you watch the highlights he’s always involved in anything we do going forward. I’m fairly sure stats would back this up.
He will frustrate but he’s one of our two difference makers along with DJ. Its frustration i think, he wont get abused but we all know he could dominate games if his form picks up a bit. He is more of a marked man these days and he will have to get to grips with it.
Said a while ago we are in a relegation battle, and i know people will argue that point that fair enough but at this time feel we are in one.
Why play an experienced center back in midfield, when we have experienced midfielders available. Why play folkes again his inexperience lead to giving the ball away and was a easy target fot Wrexham. When we have again a player with so much more experience available. Jamel Matt isnt a league player anymore we all know it but the manager cannot see it, very worrying. To me that shows poor management, and Matt needs dropping from the squad.
As an aside, I normally smile at the irony of the song (insert name of place) is a shithole, I want to go home, but last night it was bang on.
Town centre is an absolute dog hole, riddled with dossers.
Overall it felt like a naive performance, which we maybe should have expected from an inexperienced manager learning on the job, it goes without saying he will need to learn quickly. ANOTHER slow start and we paid the price, that’s 3 in a row now and something which urgently needs to be addressed. That said we shouldn’t throw the baby out with the bathwater, we bossed the game from the 6th to 68th minutes and such are the fine margins in the game had Stirks stunning volley hit the inside of the post and found it’s way into the back of the net we could instead have been talking about one of the great recent Walsall away performances and results.
On a positive note Draper is going to be an absolute superstar, he has a little bit of everything you want in a forward and he is already looking like forging a very promising relationship with DJ. The danger we possess now up top means even in a game we don’t play well in we have the ability to score goals.
Foulkes had a difficult evening and Williams at times looked like a rabbit in the headlights, but these were the sorts of decisions people only last week were encouraging Sadler to make, to be more brave and bold and it’s a shame he is now being chastised by some on here for those very decisions.
I think the subs made chasing the game really didn’t work, Matt had another chastening half hour and further emphasised playing Hutch and Tierney together as I warned against recently when up against high quality opposition doesn’t work. Our performance after the changes became very disjointed and slapdash.
On reflection there was enough on show to think if we can can cut out the silly errors and play in a slightly more pragmatic fashion we can have a very good season, we more than went toe to toe with the pre-season favourites on their patch for the vast majority of the game, however equally if we don’t quickly learn then we will find ourselves again well outside the playoff chase.
My Leamore Windows Player of the Match was young Freddie Draper for an all-action performance and a constant menace for the opposition backline.
I think the reason he gets more stick than other players is because of his inconsistency on his day he is top league 1 midfielder other days he his an average league 2 player if he was just an average league 2 player all the time i think you find he wouldn’t get half the stick he does. But he has shown us hes got it in his locker so comes down to fan frustration rather than targeting him.
