I’m just saying we can’t moan about the fact we lost to “Blackburns reserves” if we’re also heralding individual performers like they’re game changers….
Personally I think we both made lots of changes (which I knew would happen) and the game had a distinctly open and easy going nature to it where neither side were really cautious or focussed.
That’s what you get with lots of young players on show….lots of bad decisions and mistakes = lots of goals….
Just got in and read through this thread and am pleased to see we scored 3 goals. Looks like we are going to have some more exciting games this season Also pleased to see some of our younger players and summer signings doing well . More important than the result is that the coach has some choices to make for Saturday. UTS
All I’m saying is, using the same narrative as “we lost to Blackburns reserves” means it should also be said of course they (individuals) played well it was only Blackburns reserves!
Personally it doesn’t matter to me that it was blackburns reserves you made that criticism not me.
I remember when we completely outplayed Bradford away last season and someone said to me after the game how well we had played. I had some kind of mini meltdown and said the same thing, so so bored of losing. I get ya mate.
To be fair the boring football second half of last season completely killed me off.
There are some positives, but does he start Foulkes and Tierney on Saturday and possibly Draper, or does he go back to Saturday’ starting line up?
Just seen Crewe win at Sunderland - Salford beat Preston at Preston, some strong L2 performances , we need to start defending better, lots of work to do.
Too many defensive lapses in concentration that need knocking out of them sharpish to give us a solid base. Some good performances from players who didn’t start last Saturday and some potential beginning to show with our attacking play.
Think I’ll avoid the match threads for a while for my own sanity, between the interesting opposing views and thoughts on a game there’s big chunks of bed wetting hysterics.
No way he starts Draper. Million miles difference for a young kid to show a few moments v Rochdale or Solihull in a friendly compared to the furnace of league two v Stockport with the preside I can already sense mounting from some.
No need to panic yet. Remember 83/84 a scrappy 1-0 win at Exeter followed by 3 defeats incliding 8-1 at Bolton. Shame the League cup isnt two legs like back then.
