L 5-0 vs Milton Keynes Dons (A) - League Two - Fri 29th March, 3pm

If your club captain is declared fit he plays. Weighty or wrongly that’ll be the case til the clock stops and the world explodes.

The idea with tierney was to match up and prevent Bate and Payne dictating play. They took Payne off shortly after once they’d worked out what we’d done. It was only 1-0 at the time. The penalty killed it and once they’d adjusted we went back to 3-5-2 quickly afterwards.

Their movement thru midfield and off the front with their two 10s was exceptional and their patience to build and create attacks changing the focal point each time until a run wasn’t tracked…or was tracked and left space was a lesson to us.

Problem we had was we matched up formation wise but had no idea how to play it and continued to punt it forwards too quickly aimlessly.

Do I think it was a valid tactic to play players who are good at winning possession against a team that can dominate possession?

Yes.

Not when you already have a midfield 3 - no.

You’re basically chopping off your nose to spite your face.

Horrendous sub.

The excuses
International call ups
MK are good at home
Faal was tired after 20 mins
Penalty was unlucky
The timing of the goals was unlucky
Still finding a rwb solution
Jack Knowles and Mat Injuries

More waffle than his gang of apologists on here

But fear not there are positives
We are still in the picture
Matt has had minutes
And the boys want to bounce back

Which was Stating a fact not an opinion on whether you should or not.

We simply matched them up. The idea was to stop Allen and DD having to follow their two 10s into midfield and to allow Conley and stirk to pick them up while hutch and tierney then pressed Bate and Payne.

It didn’t work cos we don’t keep possession long enough and then gave away a terrible penalty.

I’ve never seen 361 work in any capacity. That’s what it became because of how poorly coached we are on the ball.

Sorry, it’s negative and passive.

I could understand it if it was a shift to 451 - then sure.

361 ? Sorry, that is weak.

It’s more 3-4-3

It defintely wasnt :joy:

Last time I went before New Year we badly needed a right wing back. There’s been an entire transfer window since and we still need a right wing back. Absolutely bizarre.

Good assesment @CompletelySaddled i e said something g similar about how the ball In to the front man was seeing him pin his marker and roll it to runners. This happened non stop. Zero effort to stop it. Basics. Part of the reason why Sadler isn’t capable of getting us promoted

It was but as I said we don’t keep the ball well enough and he changed it after 15 mins anyway.

Tierney and hutch were meant to be pressed up with Gordon

“Wasn’t who we are”

BINGO!!!

Would you have made that change?

Crap interview.

Blamed everyone else but himself.

Awful team selection.
Awful half time substitution.
Awful from Faal who has no idea of being a goal scorer.
Awful from Stirk who looks non league at best.
Awful from Hutch who thinks he is better than he obviously is.
Awful from Daniels from the first minute to the penalty give away pass. Now we know why Crewe let him go.
MS should accept a large chunk of responsibility for that shixxshow but probably he won’t.
No motivator on the pitch.
Should be a huge apology to the fans that travelled.

He was far from his imperious best, probably his worst game in a Saddlers shirt. Still thought the cheering of him going off was abhorrent.

Is that what Sadler has said in his interview?
Some of his ‘excuses’ are laughable there. Still finding a RWB solution? - should have sorted it out better in the summer or Jan.
Faal tires after 20 mins due to still fasting? - Well don’t start him then! Play someone else who is able to last longer and do their job and bring him on as an impact player later.
Penalty unlucky? - we were masters of our own downfall with that one!
Timing of goals unlucky? - So when is a good time / lucky time to conceded then?

I really hope we can bounce back on Monday - we should do, as ‘we are good at home’ as Sadler said about MKDons.
