Perhaps it’s a swop with Rodney rejoining us?
I’m happy about this as he isn’t good enough.
That said, it’s a sign of real mismanagement in January. He was given a contract for the upcoming season when we were almost nailed on to be a league one club.
The idea that Amantchi is a player that was considered able to contribute in league one is unbelievable to me.
Long term that…
Folks saying Levi is raw and will get minutes. This fella is in his mid 20’s. He’s been in and around professional football since being at Chesterfield in his teens with loans, transfers, up, down and sideroads. The only level he was successful at was the second tier of non-league….and there’s a really good reason for that, because that’s his level. He had an opportunity at Bromley which didn’t work out. For some utterly bizarre reason we paid money for him when we looked certs for L1. Sometimes when things dont make sense it’s because there isn’t any sense there. Ditto the signing of Josh Gordon after his jaw dropping failure of a loan spell. What would have been good at the end of last season, and what would have been right, is the person responsible for these decisions being held to account, especially against the backdrop of the catastrophic failure to gain promotion.
I said the other day, that this doesn’t smell right.
Something has gone on here. I don’t think this is just about his ability on the field. There’s been a falling out, I reckon.
The fact that josh Gordon has to hold Levi’s hand through the friendly as he had no idea what he was doing says it all
Someone should be questioning and correcting the recruitment software.
View to a permanent in January then?
Nothing against Levi, but i just don’t see it with him at all. Another cock up in January.
So Sadlers long term target that he had been chasing for months has been sent to Rochdale ??
I have absolutely nothing against Levi and I hope he scores a hatful of goals for the Dale but come on WFC… stop spinning this rubbish when you sign players. So that means the 2 strikers we brought in to see us over the line in January are in one case without a club and the other has dropped to the conference
Computer should have said NO.
Regardless of how it relates to us signing him in the first place and how much of a disaster the January window was. This is good news, it at least gives me hope we will get in another good striker.
This will at least give us a fighting chance.
And people genuinely try to tell me, the club no what their doing ![]()

Shambles
It really was the worst transfer window ever…worse than when we sold dann and fox
How does it mean we will be bringing in a quality striker? Has it freed up boat loads on wages? Are Rochdale paying us for his services? Im not sure how it equates.
Leaving aside rumours of a falling out, this would suggest the amount of playing time he’s gonna get has dropped significantly due to the signing of someone else, hence the loan.
I didn’t say it meant we would be bringing in a quality striker. I said it gives me hope, that isn’t the same thing.
It probably isn’t saving bucket loads in wages but I’d be surprised if he has been loaned out without anyone coming in. How good that player will be, who knows.
We pay money for any player we then sack off to Rochdale.
He’s just signed a new deal at Dale.
Good point Phil, hadnt looked at it like that.
Probably because im in Sorrento drinking oceans of Limoncello Spritz
I think there’s a real split in our recruitment. The obscure non league pick ups are clearly stats based and largely very good.
It’s the ones around our division or league one that seem like old school eye test type judgements that have been woeful.
