4-2
Well done lads. Great win. Mat with the right selection yet again.
I’ve not seen a better Walsall team, relative to our league status, in my 50 odd years of supporting this football club.
What a season we are having
I get the sense Josh Gordon is going to have an excellent second half of this season!
An highly entertaining win. Only the lack of a clean sheet can be a cause for concern. But apart from that, promotion is on the way.
Result and performance of the season so far for me. Sends a clear message to the chasing pack that any boost they felt they had by us losing Nathan Lowe is no boost at all. Calms the nerves of all of us who were panicking about where goals were going to come from - and sends a nice message to Lincoln that perhaps we aren’t as desperate as they thought.
Outstanding to a man - and we could have doubled that score and still not been flattered.
Wow. This team is just incredible, all of them. 9 wins on the bounce. 9 goals in the last 2 games. I still stand by Adomah not being a ST although he got his goal today.
Our “win” percentage now stands at 72% from League 2 games this season. That’s quite an amazing figure!!
Missed the feed so was expecting the worse, draw at most, OMG, answers a few in this league saying we dependent on Nathan…
9 goals in last two games. 8 different scorers
Definitely wasnt MOtM but played well. Stirk and Jellis were incredible.
He’s looking pretty sharp at the minute and showed some nice touches. Would have loved his shot to have whistled into the corner of the net.
I think you will find that he was
There were some magnificent performances today. Stirk was fantastic.
I personally would have given it to Liam, closely followed by Osin and Stirky
I thought we were excellent after they scored. Especially Liam Gordon, Williams and Stirk (for me our best three players this season anyway).
Some response to losing your top scorer. I was worried a few heads might drop, especially when they scored. If anything, we went through gears they couldn’t keep up with.
Stirk is almost always MOTM but there were lots playing well. Liam G must have been in with a shout.
It’s just possible that Flash will be a different player in this team. I’d say he is certainly up for it.
Can you imagine the effect a league goal will have on him. Like having a new signing!
A fantastic team effort. As usual in the second half we turn the screw.
Just to keep @Belphegor happy…
“What’s that skip? We’re the winningest Walsall team of all time, 12 points clear at the top, with a game in hand and with 58 points on the board we only need 25 more for promotion in third. Win the next 7 and we’ll need to beat Swindon at home on 1st March to be home and hosed. With just a minor effort in the las 12 games to secure the title.”
Or more seriously as per @Bluejay 's 83pt target for 3rd, 1.19ppg for the remaining 21, so now at a WLDDWLDD performance level for the rest of the season.
If we only achieve the post December form of last year, 1.69ppg then we’re now heading for 93pts.
Coasting
Eit: Obviously if we maintain our current ppg for the rest of the season then we’re heading for 106. Carrying on our post New year/January form then we’re on for 121.
25 shots with 33% possession. Gotta love it, MK dons was mostly passing between their backline
