Most Visited Away Ground

Yes, I think I was there for all of those games. I also went to a Wolves-Villa game in 1981, the year Villa won the Division 1 title, with my West Ham supporting mate. I must admit, I wanted Wolves to win that day!

I think Swindon is mine and going again today. This would be closely followed by Tranmere, Port Vale, Torquay and Hereford I would say….

It was 3-0 if we are thinking of the same game. Holdsworth was sent off for being an idiot but I thought we were totally outplayed even when we had eleven players on the pitch.
However…after that game we only lost one more (at Palace) and we stayed up comfortably, whereas Wolves crumbled and threw away an 11 or 12 point lead and missed out in the play-offs. So everything worked out in the end.

Been to 2 grounds with only 3 sides, Northampton and Aldershot. Also one that used to have 3 sides Sheffield United ( one of my most memorable games, good old Ron Green).

I went there when it still had the Cricket pitch. Away in the League Cup around 1966 or 1967 I think. From what I remember fans could stand on the far side of the cricket pitch but would be a long way away, but I might be wrong about that as I would only have been a nipper then. Think we lost 2-1?

Shrewsbury, Crewe, Chesterfield, York, Bournemouth.

Lovely ground.

It’s probably Leyton orient for me which is a bit odd as we went years without playing them

We have played Bournemouth 107 times, so possibly next after Gillingham, even if we are not going to play them again soon unless there is a cup draw in that direction.

On the side in terrace in front of stand for an fa cup game early 90’s

For Walsall, it’s Stockport I reckon.

But overall it’s Old Trafford probably, back in the days when you could get in on the day.

Preston bloody hell lol who remembers when it kicked off in legends before the game?:rofl:

If we’re counting non- Walsall games, mine would be Aldershot. I watched them regularly when I lived down there- only two or three were Walsall games. I didn’t support them, but I did develop a bit of an affinity. One I’ve unsurprisingly not developed for Shrewsbury. Aldershot fans couldn’t see just how good Steve Claridge was- called him lazy…

When I lived down that way, I knocked off work early on a Tuesday to watch us play there. Only problem was, the match was Wednesday.

Newcastle and Sunderland as I worked there for two years, but from home it would be Shrewsbury, port Vale and crew. At one time I’d been to all 92 ground’s and a few non league’s

Yep, there’s a few of us done all four sides at Preston.

Done three sides as an away fan at Blues and Mansfield.

Then two sides at Wolves, Vale, Orient, Brentford, Bristol City, Notts County, Accrington, Burnley, Bradford, Bury, Rochdale, Oldham, Carlisle, Swindon, and probably a few more.

Blackpool? You’re surely old enough to have stood in the open end, before they put us all in that disgusting temporary stand down the side.

Yes. I knew there’d be more.

Not olde enough to remember the roof on the big away end at Blackpool mind. Was just a few rusty old stanchions when I first went there.
