Nathan Lowe signs (Aug 2024)

I think he played up front on his own is the impression I got? And also that he had a decent first half but Stoke barely got out their own half second half and he was feeding off scraps

From Stoke Sentinel Player Ratings - joint highest
Lowe: Perfect start and a confident striker’s instinct to steer ball into corner. Almost got second with cushioned touch at start of second half. Competed hard. 7.5

If his goal contributions continue at a decent rate between now and the end of the season I don’t think he’ll be at Stoke next year.

Olbion fans are right up there when it comes to being amongst the most biased and deluded football fans.

Proper strikers goal that is , the original shot was going well wide.
You can’t coach that.

A dilemma. Hope the kid does well, and I also hope he moves on from Stoke ASAP!

I hope he stays at Stoke now and does really well. As much as I would like him to return (Stoke sign other strikers), I feel it would be telling him he wasn’t good enough and might feel like a step backwards coming here after having started yesterday. I think Stoke will include him every match now.

Their player celebrations are nothing like ours - very reserved…

You’d think given how crap they’ve been this season that getting a goal scoring machine into the team would give em a lift! Maybe they’re wary he’ll make em look what they are - bang-average?

I think things at Stoke are fairly toxic.

Robins obviously doesn’t out this but he leaves a few clues in his interviews. As does Nathan’s dad in his compliments about us.

Which is why Nathan going back right now is a risk because environmentally I guess it’s chalk and cheese to what’s going on at Walsall right now.

That said, he seems such a level headed and sensible young man, Robins might see him as part of the new broom required.

I must say, seeing him going straight into the starting lineup, made me feel a bit better about it all. I would have been pissed off if he went back and just had the odd 5 minutes off the bench.

Not that it would have made any difference to our situation, but at first it felt like he had been called back out of spite, almost.

We just need to keep doing what we are doing. Building good relationships, looking after players and improving them, and good players will be available for us.

That was a very nice goal. Nothing lucky about it at all.

I wonder whether we’ll wait until the summer and go in for Micky Mellon again.

Bradford could easily beat us but the traffic vying for the play off spots is pretty grim. Right now, I can’t see them getting promoted.

That’s exactly how I feel and wish him well.

FUN FACT!

Nathan Lowe (2005) who opened the scoring for Stoke City against WBA was born 5 years after Port Vale last scored a Championship goal (2000):+1:t2:

There will not be many games where, simultaneously, at two separate grounds, supporters celebrate the same goal with a rendition Nathan Lowe’s own song… :notes:

And Nathan Lowe will have great grandkids before they do again.

No 10pm announcement this Sunday.

On the bench for the Sjoke tonight then……

Lowe benched for this evenings game away at Portsmouth with Ennis leading the line.
