Wonder if Stirk and Chang got to play together when they were both at Blues???
Given we havenāt seen either of the two CMs yet I think itās fairly obvious this is ease yourself in type loans and weāll see at least one back for next season if they look o.k in the run in.
Much like Sawyers when he initially came in on loan didnāt play much at all but it was clearly done to get him settled and used to the DS style and then he hit the ground running the next season.
Iām a bit baffled by this tbh.
Over the past couple of seasons we have signed a number of players on permanent contracts with an eye to the future. Jellis, Williams and Weir come to mind.
Signing loan players with a view to the future makes little sense, particularly if we donāt give them games. What is their incentive to sign for us at the end of the season rather than someone else?
Okagbue signed
He did, but he played a lot of games while on loan.
I agree.
I didnāt expect either to walk into the starting lineup, but for neither to have even made the bench yet is strange.
There is only 15 games left now, maybe they will get a chance when Jellis gets his inevitable two match ban, but a bit of game time before that would have been beneficial.
The only positive I can put on it is that I have a lot more trust in the Club overall, so maybe they know what they are doing. From the outside, it seems a bit off to me.
Chang has started seven league games in his career, Lipsiuc is 19 and has started none. The bench for last game was Hornby, Adomah, DJ, Comley, McEntee, Amantchi and Weir. Who are we dropping to make way for Chang or Lipsiuc?
Not much of our January recruitment makes any sense. Talk of dominoes and patience and it being okay because we were streets ahead was very naive.we did alot of slapdash last minute business
@longdogs is right who do they replace.
Fact is we didnāt sign players to improve our XI. We didnāt have a window to improve our position it is no shock to me our lead has been whittled down and will continue to be whittled down.
While I accept that it is a pity that George Hall has not been able to get clear of his injury woes, this was a truly ambitious signing in the summer.
I also think that Chang proves the great links that Sadler has with the Blues.
Ironically, we could be swapping places with Peterborough, whom many see as the lower league club to emulate.
If we go up and they go down, I wouldnāt be surprised to see us go after one or two of their players. I know that it hasnāt really got going for him at Peterborough, but Chris Conn-Clarke was mentioned by a few UTS posters @WTID @Jordh @Bags10 last year and he could be our next Oztumer, in a sense.
The January window is an inflated market (e.g. the shoddy treatment by Lincoln of Draper) and we kept the nucleus of our team together, so my belief is that criticism of the club is pretty harsh, in this regard.
Been nice on here the last few weeks
Got kicked off the hednesford forum
The keys were quite contented before he came alongā¦
Maybe the club are optimistic that we will get promotion secured early and then play the loanees. Try before you buy!
Good signing, surprised Liverpool let him go.
It happened a few times under DS. Get them in the building and settled and then hand them 1 or 2 year deal if they show enough in training.
Neither of the two midfielders are in the squad again today so clearly Sadler is happy to go with the regulars, get promotion all but sealed and then we probably see them more in April onwards?
Interesting what he says about Chang and Lipsicu after the game.
Lipsiuc played for Stokes 21ās last night so was never going to feature to today
Stirk assist. Guess someone has to update his stats.
Genuinely thought Wheatley was injured, didnāt realise he was being left out of the squads.
I think weāll see two of the kids back in the 18 for Tuesday.
