So was I. I knew we’d gone behind, but didn’t reslise it was two behind. I don’t think their fans were happy with the ref.
Away spectators are mostly housed on one side of the Bisley Stand, where around 580 fans can be accommodated. This stand is all seated and covered, and being a relatively new stand, the facilities inside are quite superb.
The stand is shared with home spectators who are separated by a portion of green netting, draped elegantly over the seats. In addition, a small temporary block of open seating is also made available at the South End.
This has a capacity of just over 400. As expected, the seating in the Bisley Stand gives a better and more comfortable view of the game, but both areas share the same facilities.
The entrance Gate 6, to the away spectators section is at the opposite end of the stadium to the home audience and is accessed along Corporation Road (so no need to go through the main stadium entrance). It is poorly signposted, and there is a small pathway between some residential houses.
Outside the turnstiles is a small cabin that serves as the away ticket office.
In the undercroft behind the Bisley Stand is a flat-screen 40 inch HD television mounted on a wall.
Such superb facilities. One wonders how we can catch up to the technological superiority of a club like Newport.
Every other Club can say the same. Donny and Wimbledon have drawn three of their last five, Bradford have drawn two in that period. Colchester have drawn 18 games this season, and Crewe have drawn 17.
We’ve had a lengthy spell of not being very good, and that is the problem.
Anyone who has ever been to Newport knows that away spectators are mostly housed behind the goal (without a roof) and the smaller side stand has a roof.
How very polite of you, Sir!
I thought as I was typing that I would go for understatement.
The epitome of our season. Fans have gone from saying we were going to win the title and had nothing to fear about the league above because we had beaten Blues, Exeter, Huddersfield, Bolton and Reading.
Now it’s if, but’s and maybe’s and our manager telling us he never expected us to win the league by 20 points, as if that was fan expectations from the start, actually even when we were 12 points clear. This is Walsall, we all knew there was going to be a sticky patch, this has gone well past being that.
It is so odd. If we are able to go up, would we be the first promoted team to have a good number of fans wanting the manager sacked?
This is a genuine must win game. Months ago, I was hoping that we would go to Crewe not needing a result to go up. Now, I am hoping that, when we go to Crewe we still have a hope of promotion.
I know it’s been mentioned that we have an easier run to the finishing tape than those around us and there’s validity in that view however, Accrington play Carlisle tomorrow with the Cumbrians picking up results in their fight for league status and if they manage to win at accy come next Saturday we are going to be in for a very difficult match given our current form.
God knows how nerve wracking that would be.
Ive given up predicting… all i know is we have yet to win an away 1230 KO… i think.
Maybe away? We have beat both Colchester and Tranmere at home in 12.30 ko
Worth remembering we’ve only beaten Newport twice in the 12 times we’ve played them since they came back into the league, and only 1 of those was at Rodney Parade.
Just like Barrow or Crewe away, or Harrogate at home, we have a poor record here.
Rerun the Barrow game and you have it right.
Surely, the return of Jamma for Newport fans is like Andy Cook (I was struggling to think of another big ex number 9 of ours from recent years) coming back to haunt us.
Ellis Harrison (ex Wales u21 international) was also born in Newport.
Surely, they can get some joy, if they get good quality service from the likes of Taylor Allen and Adomah. I’d still have Albert on the bench, but I’d bring him on out wide with at least 30 minutes left.
Not going to this one now.
I have a spare ticket for free but you’ll have to pick up from Tadley which is just south of Newbury. Adds about a couple of hours to the journey which is a pain though. Dm me if interested.
Just watched a few of Newports last few games think they’ll have to much for we .I see a loss .
Oh great, another Hex to deal with.
We have we stuffed Tranmere at lunchtime, and Colchester. Feels like a long time ago mind…
We should travel with hope not fear.2-0 to the Sadlers!!
