From yesterday’s betting. Collins looking likely.

Who would be happy with Bowyer? I certainly would but would the Yanks prefer to bring in Neill Collins?

Collins is the name on the list that scares me the most. I’d be genuinely concerned about relegation should he get the job.

I have serious reservations about the second tier of US football and the MLS is not great let alone the USL, which although professional will be full of ex pros taking a last gig or college kids that missed the MLS selection.

Although the guy played in the UK he has no experience of coaching players at this level let alone managing them and the 46 game season over 10 months here is very different to the comfort of no relegation playing games on the west coast of the States.

I was unsure, but finally made up my mind after reading those arguments.

Neill Collins for Walsall boss.

Must be a few Sheffield Wendy fans who fancy a day out in London watching Peterborough in the League 1 play off final!! :joy:

Yeh I would be but rumoured to be on Blackpools wish list.
I think it could well be Collins but as few have mentioned it the structure and team around him. Would he be happy to keep Saddler, does he have his own number two in mind or could we pair him with a British based assistant who knows the EFL, will he report to Jordan or will there be aDOF or Head of recruitment in between etc

Get the feeling Sadler might decide to depart should he not get the job.

Fantastic.
Why don’t you put an application in for the Walsall job on her behalf.

Think that would definitely be a grave mistake.

That reminds me of Stoke in the playoffs against us , where their announcer was talking about travel arrangements for the final😃

Nah what else could he possibly do :joy::joy::joy:

:rofl::rofl:

I’m with CompletelySaddled on this - I’ve often found that people who profess overtly to be more knowledgeable than others, especially without backing that up with credentials, to always be correct.

I’d suggest Phillips managing in non league , and Sadler who’s been part of the last few years of decline are equally if not more risky.

But I’d expect Winkelman to appoint someone in a lot less than a month. Tranmere took a long time before eventually giving the job to the caretaker. Donny had targeted McCann before they sacked Schofield and had filled the vacancy within days.
The sooner the new man is appointed, providing he’s the right man, the better.

McCann is in perpetual motion between Doony and P’boro, that tells it’s own story, not much adventure involved in appointing their manager…

I would think that the new manager will like to have a say in our retained list.

We have until next Saturday to decide which, if any, of our out-of-contract players: Wilkinson, Kinsella, Monthe, White, Labadie, Earing, Taylor Allen, Williams, Abraham, Perry, Clarke are going to be offered new contracts.

In his letter to fans Boycott said that he wanted to have less turnover of players.
