Remember this, we’d only won one game in six and badly needed some new blood. Ron Green did well with several fine saves to keep the score down. Gillingham’s third was scored by defender Mark Weatherley, normally a defender who played up front as they were short on attacking options. Had some other bad scorelines there in the 80’s I was at a 2-5 defeat there in 85 and I think 0-4 on New Year’s Day in 1987.
