It is sad mate gonna stick my neck out here but I think if we we’re currently in the top 7 of this league we’d have took 1500 to Vale away
I honestly didnt hear but i was down behind the goal in lower…
Didnt deseve too be boo’d out
Waasnt great but wasnt a boo off no where near…
Anger and frustration id guess but still
Easy 1.5k which makes it even more hard too take
All the hope and good vibes are long gone its just back down too the “die hard” WFC fans so too speak…
Very sad the club never capitalised on such a great chance too build
Vale won today, pope hat trick in 8mins? Leaves in great shape for a trip too there place ay lol
We weren’t that bad today. Oxford have a team of good league 1 standard players, we have a team made up of pretty poor league 2 players. They tried hard and as per usual wasted the only good chances we managed to create. We need to accept this is our current reality and with a bit of quality added in January we should end up mid table.
I think I’m right in saying Port Vale are one of only a handful of teams in England who have not lost at home yet this season in the league so it’s another tough game in this beautiful league
I bet Matty Taylor is regretting not joining us.
Thought despite Oxford clearly being the better side, that we held our defensive shape better than a few weeks ago, but like others have said we lack any creativity and firepower. Clarke seems to have settled on a back 5 now, so hopefully we’ll stop leaking so many goals.
Don’t understand the criticism of Lavery, think he runs himself in to the ground, and if anyone is gonna finish and chance, it’s him.
Adebayo’s a weird one, has a burst of pace, gets himself goal side of the defender, then freezes like a rabbit in the headlights.
Surprised Clarke changed it when he did - right in the middle of our best spell of the game, which kinda disrupted our rhythm.
CCM had a tough afternoon, but would’ve been good experience for him.
Kinda glad we’ve not got a 3rd round tie to look forward to, obviously the cash would be nice, but we need to pick up points in December so the fewer distractions, the better.
One team offers a contract to Anthony Forde, a proven League 1 player, in his prime, probably around £2-3k a week.
The other signs Gary Liddle, who moves slower than your average glacier. Probably on a few hundred a week.
I’ll let you figure out which team is which.
I bet Liddle is on 1200 quid a week a bag of sand a week too much in my opinion
If he’s on a third of that figure I’ll be surprised, legs are gone, he won’t have another league club after us
Clarke’ my players are nowhere near their standard’.
Surely the E&S guy should be asking’ so why is that Daryl? You bloody well signed the lot of them’
Must say if there was booing today I didn’t hear but we did make a sharp exit .
But the team did not deserve booing they did their best
Just heard Clarke’s comments, don’t tell me he pays any attention to this “expected goals” xG nonsense does he?
No wonder we’re ■■■■■.
I can’t remember many Walsall teams that were less likely to score than this bunch, but some nonsense stat says we’re actually good and just unlucky.
Unlucky my arse.
Your arse has probably got more chance of finding the net tbh mate
I did not hear any booing. We fought well against a superior team. I thought the Goalkeeper and the 2 central defenders were excellent. I felt sorry for Facey and CCM who were given impossible tasks with the rather strange formation we played. They were constantly up against 2 players in a side that could pass and move.
Obviously there was a gap in the quality of the players but Oxford also knew the system they were playing whilst we were like strangers at times. When will the Manager realise these players are not good enough to play different systems each week?
It’s a miracle…Hallelujah
We defended magnificently, they are one of the form teams in the country and most teams in L1 can’t compete with them
right now. We gave them a good game.
We defended as any professional football team should .
Thought we did okay defensively, Clarke and Sadler were fairly solid and Roberts made a few decent saves.
The midfield is very small isn’t it, Kinsella gets about but playing a higher placed team Bates and Holden were made to look even more lightweight, Sinclair would 100% have to replace Holden when he’s fit.
I actually thought Gaffney did okay today, and we played better when he was on the pitch. He is at least a target for the long balls which when he went off were even less effective. Also I hoped he had a blinder today, the numpties somewhere in the lower tier jeering him when they were doing shooting practice need to grow up, jeer when he missed and shouting and sarcastically cheering when he scored one, and silent for the other players… really helps.
Gordon was unlucky with the header at the back post, looked like it was probably a tight angle but replay might show it was a sitter.
We weren’t good but we were by no means deserving of getting booed off of it did happen. We were fairly solid against a team in a higher league, we just cack ourselves once we get near the opponents box.
Hope we have another FGR type result on the Tuesday, because I fear for us on Saturday, bet they can’t wait to revenge that 5-0 tonking we gave them once…how many centuries ago was that?
Listening to Clarke’s interview you get the feeling he has lost the will to live, who wouldn’t when the players (that he appointed) are completely crud, and he couldn’t coach an infants school under 5’s playtime, whilst his coaching badges (that he got off the internet) are being recalled under the Trades Description Act.
This squad have nothing to show us long suffering fans any degree of excitement, we lack quality, attacking nous or desire. Little wonder the crowds are dwindling, in freezing temperatures and poor quality stadium facilities, who wants to pay to watch a permanently poor quality relegation doomed set of second rate, poorly paid also-rans? Though I guess they represent OUR colours, so there will always be that faithful 2K, but they too will eventually run out of patience.
