How’s Clarkey been doing in the friendlies so far?
Cannot tell with 2 45 minute performances but looks a leader, our back 3 look solid.
I offered him a burger at Leamington but he refused, so love his professionalism. LP did go onto say he had had one earlier
Played every minute for you last season hasn’t hardly played here yet maybe all of a sudden we are having to watch how much he plays.
It’s pre season, i don’t think any player has played a full game yet
He hasn’t played as much as others so far it was more tongue in cheek at the fact it’s just like us to sign a player that’s played every single minute the year before and made the team of the year and all of a sudden his body is not making that possible a bit like Wardy last year.Ipswich fans saying he was bombing up the wing for 30+ games then comes to us and did nothing of the sort.It works in both directions by the way with players that leave us playing brilliantly at their next club after underperforming here.I’m not quite sure why it happens to us so often.I hope it doesn’t happen with Clarke obviously.
Was not a big fan of his signing but the pace comes from the other 2. If its Monthe and Daniels i cant see a better back 3 (on paper) than those in this division.
Nor do i think he will play all the time anyway.
The proof is in the pudding, only one way to find out. The useless ghost of Stephen Ward is still ringing in all our ears.
Pomlett at the next meet the owner night, when he’s asked about the ‘gamechanger’ signing.
Some people really embarrassed themselves on here. Lol.
I am ashamed to admit I was very wrong about Clarke and I thought it was embarrassing
He is exactly what what we need a model professional leader and organiser.
What a player and man
I suck
To be honest I understand why people were uneasy about the signing. I was but his record cannot be ignored.
It’s posters slating others for being remotely positive about the signing that should be embarrassed.
To be fair signings like Clarke’s have historically not gone well for us in more recent times.
So far Clarke’s has, and we are well overdue some luck with an experienced head coming in for a last hurra.
The man is a leader, an organiser, and immense.
I’m so glad he’s wearing our shirt in what could be a very special season!
Meh, To be fair my reference was being done by Conor Wilkinson but hold my hand up he’s been unreal first two weeks. Hope it continues.
There’s a couple on here that was slagging the squad off before a ball was kicked, funny only 1 come on here and admitted they was wrong
In last few years club have signed Russell Martin, Guthrie and Stephen Ward to no great effect and they had similar profiles to Clarke so that’s why people weren’t hugely optimistic.
That said he played every game for Tranmere last season so that shows he looks after himself big time off the field and something the younger lads in the squad need to be taking note of.
Think we might have a manager with considerably better judgement than those who brought in the previous antique players. Clarke is a genuine leader on the pitch who is respected by those around him and who still cares.
Peter Clarke is just a class, intelligent, professional footballer, who even if he hangs up his boots at the end of the season I would still try and keep him here on the coaching side.
This will have been the signing Flynn made a new line for ! We conceded many goals last season from set pieces he wins headers! He organises and commands that back line. He is experienced. Also on a side note looks like tranmere are missing him after 2 games
Class today, with his nous seeing out the game.
Telling Allen to walk slowly off the pitch over the by-line, rather than going off the side of the pitch and the faux argument with Evans wanting to take a goal kick long, when he wanted it short, towards the end of the match. Then having supposedly lost the argument, running off towards the middle of the pitch with a massive grin on his face.
