Reasons why Walsall will (or won't) win League Two

In our newest episode, we look at the reasons why Walsall will, or won’t, win League Two.

The new signings, whether we have been ‘found out’, squad tiredness and a lot more, we put forward the arguments on both sides of the coin to discuss whether we think the Saddlers can go on to be Champions.

Thanks mate

We quite like doing these where we look at both sides of the coin, hopefully the listeners enjoy the various points made

I’m firmly in the “we’re getting promoted “ camp and the fact that the chasing pack have to play one another and have failed to significantly close the gap during our blip is encouraging. A nice listen as always :+1:.

Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed

I am in the ‘we’re getting promoted’ camp, but it’s the ‘we are going to win the league’ that I think is more of an unknown.

The next 4 games against teams we by rights should be beating will be an indication. Also it will give us an idea of the chasing pack too

Christ on a bike, you have been busy! I’d better get episode 67 finished!

No rest for the wicked! We aim for it to be every two weeks.

So get listening as there’s more to come!

I find the psychology of it fascinating, if we were 7 points adrift at the bottom you would be convinced that we would be getting relegated. However flip the table and to be 7 clear at the top we are doubting winning promotion.

For what it’s worth I think the sticky patch is over. Potentially we could be 10 points clear prior to the 3pm kick offs on Saturday. Puts the pressure straight back on to the chasing pack.

At what point are shenanigans allowed? Guess thats more of a question for Gaz from OPB

2 wins and a draw from next 5 games sees is hit 70.

I feel that would be psychologically significant and we would still be top 3 even if County/Bradford win all 5 and either end up at 69.

It’s then a final push to 83 with 4 wins + 1 draw from the final 10 to effectively seal top 3?

Put another way 20 from a possible 42.

Thats the sort of sound logic we can’t comprehend as Walsall fans :joy:

Thanks mate, appreciate it!

Can’t be shenanigans if we also talk about why we won’t win the league

Strange that as we get closer to the finishing line and see things like this - I get so nervy…

It must be the years of (predominant) disappointment that does it!
