Had his critics but I’m gutted he’s gone.
Can’t even wish him good luck as it’s vale

I personally liked Gordon an honest player excellent in 2/3 of the pitch but terrible in the other 1/3.

Strange he’s gone to Vale as they supposedly have an abundance of wingbacks

Interesting that a league one club deem him good enough yet some on here think that we can attract a left back with no faults.

Time for Evan Weir to step up, but I expect a loanee from one of our midland neighbours to add competition.

Could we sign Nathan Asiimwe to replace him on the left side?

I’d wish him well if it was a team other than Vale. Hopefully he gets a relegation on his cv next year

I’ve been told the contract offered to Jamille Matt is for a player-coach role, but he’s not keen on the coaching aspect due to other business commitments. He’s now likely to leave.

You win some you lose some :man_shrugging:

Gordon is disappointing to lose but I am not exactly crying into my dinner over it either. We can do a lot worse than him next season though - but also I can’t say I will miss his absolutely horrific crossing, and someone who is more well rounded in going forward and back may be better long term. Superb engine and a very good pro though.

I’d be more interested in how long some of these players have known deals elsewhere were on the table for them.

I won’t say what my kids said when they found about about him going to Vale.

We move on.

I understand the sentiment @Blazing_Saddler and probably felt the same, upon seeing his new club (I work with a Vale fan who will love this!)

We have to be pragmatic though. Good player but a reset might not be the worst thing to ever happen and Weir shows some potential.

We probably will struggle to replace him to be fair, but I won’t lose any sleep at all about losing some of these bottlers. I’m not expecting much next season, will be starting again, maybe the season after.
