I guess so but I’d argue Farq has more potential than Earing and is more likely to play at a higher level if fit. Earing has played a lot more so it’s a combination of being injury prone and also not exactly pulling up any trees whereas PF has looked like a man mountain at times when he’s played.
I think it’s a case of one last chance with PF and like I said it should be on considerably lower terms which may even have clauses in it to protect us if injury occurs again.
Let’s face it Sadler will play Josh Gordon and Matt up front next season with Levi coming on. We will loan a kid for the 4th striker. People are deluding themselves if they think Matt gonna come on with 10 mins left during next season. This is Matt Sadler we’re talking about. To offer Matt , priest djt, Liam Gordon contracts just shows we ain’t moving forward. Anyways that’s all I was waiting for,. Good luck to anyone going next season. Lights out.
Yeah that chat is, we don’t need you so your going on the list under George Barret.
Honestly I don’t know what is to difficult to understand about it, Maher, yeah maybe, the other two it’s just nonsense, we aren’t protecting anything barring backing ourselves into a corner.
Also what if they don’t decline until the last minute, we are a month down the recruitment line unless the club are budgeting for signings and keeping on players they don’t really want.
PF is 28 and Earing is 26, so I’m sorry I don’t buy the development potential of PF. He is what he is now, which is a player that has amassed less than 2000 minutes of football in 2 full seasons. Should have been on the released list.
Some big bottlers we want to keep, other bottlers we want to let go. Then there’s DJ and Jack.
Needs a far bigger clear out. Start with the manager and work down. The collective trauma won’t dissipate if we keep together the people who formed the worst team in the country for four months, who failed to turn up week after week and saved one of their biggest no shows for the biggest stage.
Typical Walsall aye it, offering Jamille Matt, Priestley, DJT contracts we’ve really lost the plot, all this bollocks about Jamille being a leader on and off the pitch ? Well he really played the part there helping us to throw away a nailed on promotion and no show ( again ) at Wembley, real leadership skills don’t make me loff, Priestly Christ almighty he’s the annual sick note, plays a few games in Sunny August then retreats to the rehab clinic for the rest of the season, get rid absolutely robbing a living as a footballer, at least the other annual sick note Earing is gone !!DJT I can’t put into words what I think about him !!! I would imagine that others involved in contract talks will depart ie Taylor Allen, Jellis, Williams ? I’m trying to stay calm at the moment so I’ll wait and see what the contract talks with players transpires, DJ thanks for all the memories you were treated appallingly in my opinion by a rookie uninspiring coach, I wish you well wherever you go. The three main absentees on the release list was Sadler, Byfield and Waddock, League 2 are already dreading facing the mighty Sadler inspired bottle jobs
I’m so pleased for DJ because Mat Sadler quite clearly didn’t want him even though he was the best striker we had apart from Lowe.
I hope he can find a club that will appreciate him.
I was hoping the first name on the released list would have been Sadler himself but was resigned to the fact that he will be in charge next season so let’s see how it goes.
I’m hoping to see a different style of play but I won’t hold my breath.
Trivela will now have to show a real intent for the 25/26 season especially around the annual January transfer cockup. Oh and we need a decent goal scorer.
I hope Liam Gordon signs, one of the best players in the team this season and if it wasn’t for him to be expected to play 60+ games in a season including internationals with no solid 2nd choice to give him a rest he would be much more consistent. Get a decent dedicated LWB loan or young second choice to challenge him and let him rest occasionally and there isn’t much better in the league.
Also hope Stirk signs and Jamma stays on in the kind of role Sadler did in his last playing season, 5-10 games as an impact sub, but hold a coaching role and have the impact in the dressing room.
Farq will either be a moment of magic where he stays fit and is the best defender in league 2 or he gets injured 2 games in and we don’t see him for the full season, he is 100% a step up from Dave in that RCB position though.
Williams is an odd one, if he has shown the desire to leave surly they would have released a statement like they did for Mcentee, can see him being our number 1 CB choice next season.
I expect the rest to go but with Allen, Williams, Dave, Gords, Barrett, Stirk, Lakin and Jellis we have over 50% of the spine that got us to the top at the start of the season. It’s not a terrible starting point especially if we are willing to spend some money to improve the squad.
