I wouldn’t be too bothered. For me, it’s more about exploring all the possibilities, and perhaps someone from England was interested in signing him. If so, it would be free money. If not, no loss. I doubt he was part of Trivela’s plans anyway.
Pre-Trivela, but didn’t the club do something similar with Adebayo and Hearts? Got worked up about Hearts making an approach outside the window without realising the rule only applied to English clubs?
You don’t see anything wrong with using Walsall players for the benefit of Drogheda? Fair enough, who was paying his wages for this contract extension? We don’t know.
It’s all very murky to me.
Even more worrying, that Trivela seem unable to grasp basic rules.
Yeah, and I wonder who’s been mentoring Trivela
Nope. Let’s say they wanted to display him in a shop window and then sell him on. England was as good a destination as any other. One thing to note is that the people behind Trivela are probably quite good at handling financial issues. If they weren’t, they wouldn’t be operating in this market. Footy affairs? Nah, not for us. But looking at the player recruitment process, I see that they have changed their hunting grounds. I have no idea if it will work, but there will certainly be a lot of emotion.
Unfortunately they are running several football clubs, including us. This is quite a problem. If they aren’t able to do it then get people in who can.
There is no excuse for not understanding rules. I have no experience of running any kind of business or football club, but if all I had to do tomorrow was find out some rules, I doubt it would be much of a problem.
I had always assumed that DJT playing for Drogheda was part of some master plan whereby he would either return to Walsall as a 25 goal a season striker or be sold for a reasonable fee and the funds reinvested.
I must admit it is hard to see how DJT joining Bohemians on a free transfer shows any foresight on the behalf of Trivela.
I’m a bit worried about other apparently long term plans now. E.g. RAM.
At least we’ll always have that Tuesday evening where DJT paraded the Irish cup in front of the Bescot faithful.
If you owned horses at your manor and one of them fell ill, would you call a car mechanic to fix it? Or would you call a personal trainer to get it back in shape? Trivela is executing their plan, but I don’t know where Walsall Hootball Club fits into it. For now, I’m just enjoying the ride without thinking too much about why things happened the way they did.
Brilliant typo
I work with rules set out by our glorious financial regulator everyday! Often written opaquely and reliant on our “interpretation”, I can envisage their response if we fell foul of them and said “sorry FCA, we weren’t aware of them!”
Id call a vet first
And hootball falls perfectly for our owl goal gif
Any news on Harry Williams? Has he died? Lost a leg? Gone to the Toon? Become a Jehovah’s Witness? All of these are probably more likely than him signing a new contract with us!!
i have no doubt we would have been paying DJTs wages since he has been at the drogs probably cost us around 75k i would imagine..
Questions need asking about this at the fans forum as it was never going to be of any benefit to us was it .
Funny you should they that a Jehovah with a Toon accent and one leg knocked my door yesterday and wanted to talk to me about death and the afterlife. .I told he to do one .sorry Harry .
Sht! That was our chance to sign him up. I hold you personally responsible if we lose him! You should have run after him, he shouldn’t have been too hard to catch!!
Has it occurred to anyone that within Trivela the one guy they promoted internally with a financial and football operations background was non other than our own Stefan Gamble, shouldn’t he know all the rules on compensation etc.
I don’t give a shit whether he was in Trivela’s plans or not, he was a contracted Walsall player. We got the square route of f*** all out of that, and it seems so did Trivela, but only through their own incompetence (again).
You can’t blame Trivela for that, Ben Sadler is in charge of all things football at the club, abley helped by his beautiful assistant Leigh Pomlett.
They are the decision makers, it falls to them. Plus, my point was Walsall made nothing out of it, and neither did Trivela, as in both separate entities.
Surely Ben Sadler advises the Trivela board about football matters/technicalities, and they act on his advice. I think the whole Drogheda debacle is down to Trivela because of the fact that they own multiple teams.
