Reyes Cleary Signs

I always had feeling he was brought in, as a just in case we didnt get lowe signing. I think with josh coming back soon too he’d have fallen further away from a matchday squad

I think so too, wasn’t he brought in shortly after we released a statement about DJs illness?, which seemed a bit up in the air at the time with no return date.

Cleary would have done a job for us, but nothing more than a victim of our success. Wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up at another league two side to be honest.

I was saying that, but apparently he can’t play for another EFL team this season. According to a post further up.

Yeah i read that too, but i thought he could do a max of 2 and he hasn’t actually played for Albion this season either so dunno.

Who knows, wish the guy luck anyway.

Played for WBA against Fleetwood in the cup not sure if that counts, does it have to be a league game or just any first team fixture

Ahh that would be it, pretty annoying for him that. Didnt realise he had played for them in the cup thought we signed him earlier than that.

It wouldn’t do him any harm to go out on loan to Rushall. They are now managed by Richard Sneekes so there is a west brom connection there. I didn’t see any attitude problem. He tried his best when he came on; tried to hold up the ball, passed it OK to bring in others and it was a great strike against Shrewsbury. I believe he has had injury/fitness problems so dropping down a couple of divisions and geting game time could help his progress and if it works wouldn’t be surprised to see him back here.

I know we didn’t see much of him, but from the bits we did see, he is way better than Rushall level in my opinion. And playing in a team struggling like they are could do more damage than good.

I think he is good enough for League 2, I agree with what others have said, he has been a victim of our success and not been able to force his way up the pecking order.

With his injury record id be amazed if he fancied playing on the plastic every week! A nightmare for players with dodgy hamstrings and the like.

He could’ve got a lower club in our division I think but if he can’t due to the rules he’s easily good enough for a top half National league side I’d have thought possibly Solihull?

The snippets I saw of him he seemed to want to get wide and cut in which didn’t massively suit what Sadler wanted from our main set up so I did wonder whether he was part of a second plan if our plan A wasn’t working. Unfortunately for him our Plan A did work and he was a victim of success. Wish him nothing but good luck, he didn’t do anything wrong but he just wasn’t going to get chances here the way our season has gone so far. He was ultimately unlucky.

Even though he hardly ever made the cut, he was (nearly?) always out with everyone else in the pre-game warm ups - even when we were away. That doesn’t show a negative attitude to me.

Agreed it looked like plan B was going to be a central striker with Cleary down the left and uncle Albert down the right, but we’ve never needed it, and evidently dismissed the thought when Cleary stopped making the bench with Uncs upfront as plan b

Clearly is and will be a good player but not in our situation now.

He looked a good player when given his chance here. I am not sure why he was never tried in league matches as the substitute for Matt, rather than Adomah, since Albert cannot really perform the job that Matt does.
