Hope he doesn’t earn a contract with them then get injured

Conflicting feelings about this.

As with Ericsson at Brentford (possibly going to Man U), I think its bad form of Holden not to stay after not playing for 18 months, amd prove his fitness.

But on the flip side if Port Vale are willing to splah the cash on medical specialists for him then I understand.

After the love the fans gave him, being paid while injured and then the support and medical care he has had for nearly 2 years to go train with the vale.
Bloody disgusting, hope he stays injured

We feel with our heart our minds our soul.…conflict in feelings yes, sympathy…?

Hope he gets fit, earns himself a wedge and most importantly plays his part in their relegation back to where they belong.

Nasty !

Bit Harsh.

We’ve paid him because we had a contract with him, its hardly been a good will gesture from the club. It would have been nice for him to get fit and play for us again, but after 18 months out its just one of those things. We’ve signed players in his position already (Hutchinson, Earing, Allen), maybe a change is what he needs to get going again, whilst he was never actually offered a new contract by us, only the chance to prove his fitness.

Good luck to him, hope he does get fit and manage to make a decent career for himself.

Massive overreaction by a few to say you hope he stays injured.

I m afraid theres very little loyality shown to clubs by players these days which is a pity as as far as i can see the club and fans have stuck by him during his prolonged absence.
Bear him no ill will really and we better off without him if thats his idea of sticking by people who did all they could for him.
We need players who are 100% committed to the club and stick by the team .
Does anyone remember a game at Fellows Park years ago when the skipper Peter Hart had an injured leg ,wont come off as there was no more subs and played most of the rest of the game on the wing -thats being a footballer Rory

Indeed. Some top gash being written.

I liked him as a player, maybe even our most skilful attacker, but never fit so not fussed in the slightest he’s gone.

If a crisp packet blows into him while training he’ll be out for 6 months.

Well, he’s out of contract so can go where he wishes.
I don’t know the ins & outs of WFC’s pre-season training offer but it could be that Fail are prepared to offer him more time to prove his fitness than WFC were. If so, you can see why he’s gone there.
Good luck to him.

It was an emotive response to my favourite player leaving us yet again
I apologise if I seemed mean and honestly wish him no Ill , loved the guy and I think that’s why it hurt more especially leaving to our rival vale and our former manager who left us in an awful place
Still gutted he isn’t ours but I hope he makes a career yet for his mental state and to support his family

I ain’t have any serious feelings about it. He’s gone, probably wants to restart his career and I wish him well. Loyalty (from both sides) is a very rare thing in football and I’m not surprised he wants a new start. Somewhere else.
PS Sawyers, Oztumer, Holden, Osadebe. Maybe it’s time to stop playing that way.

Christ I’m not sure what to expect when one you hate leaves

With him only being 24, would Vale have to pay us compensation?

I don’t think it makes a difference what age you are if your contract expires might be wrong though mate.

I can’t remember exactly, but I think if your 24 or under then the club then the club the player is currently at is entitled to compensation.

This isn’t a perfect explanation but it is something along these lines.

Compensation can be due when a player under 24 contract expires and he has been offered a contract the same or better than the contract that is expiring by a certain date, I think it is the end of May but not certain.

Seeing as he is 24 it won’t apply, same happened with Sawyers who was 24 when his contract expired.
