Sadler's Replacement

Repayment of capital isn’t an expense.

My mistake in that case, apologies

It is true that repayment of capital is not an expense but it is still a drain on cash which must be raised by the club. Even if we had an interest free loan, a club with the same attendance/income as us would have a better budget if they had no capital commitments. It just goes to show the on going negative affect of selling the freehold over 30 years ago. Anyone involved in that decision should not be allowed within 100 miles of the club.

Yes and we have replaced that equity at a relatively low interest rate with a much more expensive unsecured loan from our friends at Triv.

All roads lead back to Bonser - admittedly we are a long way down the path since then.

Any thoughts on a replacement for Sadler @browser69 ??

Just hope we don’t go for Darren Moore

Either Garrard or Peaks, both of them are on the up.

Clark and flynn had done great overall at rovers and Newport but had ended up with results on the slide and results suffering.

I certainly don’t want Moore, lovely guy but I think he will be a disaster. I also hope the Ridgewell rumours aren’t true, last thing we need currently is a risky unproven manager. However both of them probably tick a lot of boxes for Trivela

I’ve not really obsessed over it for 2 years, so I don’t really have any idea, sadly.

If the Tamworth fella joins us, he’ll soon be known as Andy Troughs.

..or Andy Peaked.

Perhaps he could co-manage with Darren Less.

Was chatting to a Northampton fan earlier on and he said they are interested in Sadler. He said he has no enthusiasm to watch them at the moment, sounds familiar.

Wonder if there will be any interested faces in the crowd tomorrow

I don’t think Darren Moore would be a disaster at all. Surprised about the negativity about him on here.

He got Vale up on a decent budget but not like they were moneybags at this level. They just invested in a couple of decent forwards in the January window (imagine that).

Also got Sheff Weds up so he has recent promotions on his CV although whether he could get this club going with how things are run I don’t know.

Disaster appointment would be taking this club to the brink of non league so basically that would be appointing the 2026 version of Matt Taylor.

Darren Moore is a lovely guy so don’t mean to be personal but when the going gets tough his teams seem to go extremely defensive and uninspiring. As we are Walsall then he is bound to come across many bad spells.

He does have some success on his CV at least, I just have a very bad feeling he isn’t right for the club.

As long as it’s not an American who refers to football as “soccer”.

Apart from the play-off semi final in 2023 when they were 4-0 down after the first leg and won the 2nd leg 5-1 going through on penalties. One of the best play-off comebacks I’ve known

I have a feeling his wages will be out of our price range. Didn’t Port Vale give him a 5 year deal to offset his big wage demands?

I understand he is out of work and his stock is probably down a bit but I doubt his wage demands will have dropped that much.

I’m not sure he would be my choice, but certainly more inspiring than Ridgewell, who would be a massive gamble in my opinion.
